Re: What's Your Audio Setup?

The problem with the H1 is that the microphone plugs into the side the H1 instead of the top. If you need an adapter to plug the mic into the H1, this makes it even wider and kind of awkward to put...

Re: New to weddings - On a Budget - Thoughts and Suggestions needed

I agree wth Johannes about the indislider. I wasted $200 bucks..a few months later I bought the DPSlider for $800. So in other words, I spend $1,000 on the DP Slider.

Re: Help, I'm Drowning... In DSLR

I actually give the bride the choice between a conventional video camera (Canon A1) and a DSLR (7D and 60D). I show her sample videos of both. She chooses the dslr EVERY time (at a higher price). ...

Re: Movie Trailer for feature film shot with Canon DSLRs!

Andrew, this is really nice. It's amazing the look these camera's are capable of if given the time and proper lighting..something we never really have at a wedding.

Andrea & Jeff

Very laid back, casual couple having a small wedding. Please feel free to leave some constructive critism. There are so many talented people on this mesage board and to be honest, I'm quite jealous...

Re: Help, I'm Drowning... In DSLR

My A1's auto focus would sometimes focus on an object in the background and not the bride and groom in the foreground. That stunk. I like having the manual focus control of the DSLR because I choose...

I don't agree. I give the Bride & Groom the option of either hiring me with my A1 or my 7D. When I show them sample videos from each, they ALWAYS choose the 7D. So in theory, they don't care about...

Re: Slider recommendations - for DSLR weddings

I feel if you really need to knock a photographer over the head, the DPslider is the way to go. It's solid and almost feels like an aluminum baseball bat. It's use as a slider is also pretty good...

Re: Help, I'm Drowning... In DSLR

I think what videographers like Claire forget is that we DSLR users once used video cameras ourselves. We know both sides of the fence where people like Claire have an opinion on something that...

Re: Does anyone shoot with just ONE lens?

Aaron, if you were stranded on an island, that 35mm would probably be just fine for the beach ceremony. You could get close enough with it. ;-)

Re: Advice to brides: Getting the best from Video

Have your bride inform the makeup girls that there will be a videographer present and they should dress accordingly. Too many times they just roll out of bed and arrive at the brides house wearing...

Re: camera slider position?

Assuming you don't mean when the B&G are actually cutting the cake, you can use a slider on 2 chairs.

Re: What do YOU use more? Steadicam/glidecam, or slider

IMO, the steadicam/glider is most effective when the subject is moving and you can move along with them. I don't like it for "circling" a motionless bride and groom.

photographers don't have to use the flash, but their photos come out better if they do..same thing with video DSLR, you don't need a light but your image comes out better if you have it.
