Re: Matching C100 with BMPCC
I think the first question you've got to answer is whether you're going to be shooting in raw or pro-res.
The BMPCC has a severely baked-in look that I've found is almost impossible to overcome in...

Re: C100 very noisy
Try as I may, Gary, I'm unable to find a consensus (or nary a peep) of discussion that the Ninja when used with the C100 produces a noisier result.
What I did find was Paul Joy's nice review of...

Re: C100 very noisy
Gary--- let me put it this way then. Shooting to the ninja/samurai produces a cleaner, less noticeable noise profile regardless of the camera NR setting than shooting to the internal codec. Relying...

Re: C100 very noisy
While is some ways Gary is correct here, I'm going to generally disagree that using the ninja to moderate the noise off the C100 is a bad idea. My experience with the c300 and the samurai is that the...

Re: Down and Dirty Sensor Size Guide
Actually…His measurements of super35, APS-C and Full Frame are way…way off. Here's some quick math, excuse if I'm off a few hundredths...
Full Frame is 1.7"
Super 35 is 1.13"
APS-C is 1.09"

Re: Zeiss CP.2 bracket
Actually, zacuto just came out with a new hook/foot lens support system for compact primes by zeiss and canon. It seems to be a nice design, which eliminates one of the primary drawbacks of most lens...

It would be nice if the old dvinfo.net/conf redirected automagically to the new improved dvinfo.net/forum so I can remain blissfully lazy and not have to change my bookmarks on every last unsynced...

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera
I ordered my RX10 yesterday and apparently a $300 rebate just showed up in the dealer system, even though it hasn't been "announced" yet. Perhaps the "torn" open box deal is how adorama is "not"...

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera
I think my main obstacle in this camera is the lack of 1080p30 output. It's just so odd that Sony includes 1080p60 (a non standard) and neglects a standard format like 30p... Forcing you toss half...

Re: Canon C100 - Internal Codec vs Prores External
Lot's of people just simply convert everything to ProRes after the fact, as it's a better editing format anyway...if you're concerned about problems upstream...then that's the way to control things....

Re: c100 users enlighten me from the 60d
You may not find the c100 to be less noisy. The 5d has a ton of noise reduction applied, which is one of the reasons the image is so soft. But the character of the noise in the c100 image should be...

Re: Canon C100 - Internal Codec vs Prores External
The biggest difference will be in the level of compression artifacting. Specifically, if you blow up the the avchd footage to 200 or 400% you'll see the typical image compression you might see on a...

Re: c100 users enlighten me from the 60d
You might also want to search Jonathan Yi c300. He did an insightful and humorous comparison of that camera versus the 5d mark2 when it first came out that was one of the best arguments against...
