Re: Analyze my footage...why the varying light?

The AF/AE Lock button is your friend.

Imagine the ability to press this button once and both AF and AE are locked no matter where you point the camera. Press the button again to unlock.

Also,...

Re: GH2: Alcatraz Island (The Rock)

That is a fine lens collection Jeff. I'm convinced we all need a more objective measure of what low-light means to each of us. Where low-light to me might be a small room lit by one window, your...

Re: Analyze my footage...why the varying light?

A possibility:

Using M, S, A or P on the top dial provides full control for photos, but not video. This can also result in the strange LCD shift that some mention. For example setting the dial to...

Re: 14-140mm Panny for Video Work worth it?

Hello Graeme,

In my opinion and experience, the Lumix 14-140 is the better glass. Highly recommended.

Nicely done project Roy! Very good white balance and shallow DOF in the right places.

Re: GH2: Alcatraz Island (The Rock)

Thank you for the good words Jeff.

The Lumix 14-140 is indeed a fine lens. For my last three projects, though I carry the Lumix 20mm f1.7, I've used the 14-140 for all indoor shots as well. Many...

Re: GH2: Alcatraz Island (The Rock)

Jeff,

I primarily shoot at 1080-60i, Vibrant, and +1 Saturation. Edit the files natively with Vegas Pro, then render 720-30p.

Thanks for watching.

Re: Relic (Abandoned Phoenix Trotting Park)

Thank you for the encouragement Jeff. The GH2 is a constant performer. Some of the interior was shot at ISO 3200 with the Lumix 14-140 and not a hint of noise. I'm still getting over the days of...

Thank you for the good words Evan. I'm happy you and your friends enjoyed the project.

Like you, I've been driving past the structure for 30 years, and couldn't resist a closer look.

Re: Serious, MAJOR GH2 Shortcoming

Correct. No continuous AF with Canon 7D or 60D in video mode. You can refocus using the shutter button while recording, but the effect is unpredictable.

Re: Serious, MAJOR GH2 Shortcoming

Zhong,

As an owner of the Canon 7D (which uses an almost identical focus system as the 60D) and the GH2, I guarantee the GH2 will focus faster and more accurately than the 60D. Faster because the...
