Hello fellow UNLV student.
Which classes are you taking this semester? |
Quote:
good one...lol greetings |
Hi Bryan
I'm actually enrolled in CCSN's program. The director for this film, as well as the editor(s), and lead actor all attend UNLV.
Did you have a film in the festival this past weekend? |
Sailing "Porn"
Our tactician refers to this stuff as sailing porn...rest assured, it's strictly family entertainment.

Ah. Sadly (or fortunately--depending on how you look at it) I was unable to participate because I had paid video work that I had to complete.
I've only seen a couple things, but my actress friend Claudia won the best Actress award. |
Thanks for the footage Jim. It was cool to watch the progression of the storm. Looks like you made it out o.k. Good luck out there.
|
I just have to know... What is it about storms, that makes us forget that we built dwellings to get out of the storm? I was inside, where it was warm and dry :)
|
Fortunately....
Trust me you were fortunate. They awarded most of the awards to really hokey films that did a lot of things wrong.
There was a sci-fi entry that was really excellent. It got best cinematography but should have been given several more. |
Mickey: you might have more look at having people see your movie if you can
directly link to the page or the actual file. Looking at myself, my time is extremely limited and I don't like to go hunting around to find a short to watch. Sorry... |
Independent Film Forum
Thanks, Rob. The actual url is http://www.independentfilmforum.com/movie.php?id=71
Once there, you will need to register - it's free - to see and/or review the video(s). Registration is in the top right hand corner. It only takes a few moments and, in my opinion, it is worth it. More important than seeing my video and the most important part of this message is that here is a website where we can showcase our videos without having to host or stream them ourselves. |
Photographer movie
The following is a movie made in about 24 hours in August. I put a link to another version a few weeks ago, but this is a re-worked version (tighter editing and color corrected).
http://www.archive.org/details/JFRobichaudLephotographe It is 5 minutes long, and about 2 hitch-hiking girls who encounter a mysterious photographer. I was shot with a GL2, edited on PPRO. The music was composed by a friend for another movie, but I thought it worked well with this one. I'd like to have some comments, if you like it (or not). :) |
The Coconut
Want to see what my XL1 can still do? Go to my site and check it out. "The Coconut" is my latest trailer. If you are in the area come and see us in December, wine and cheese on the house!

'Scripted Work' trailer
Hi guys,
I just finished the trailer for a new short movie called 'Scripted Work' (in Dutch 'Afgesproken Werk'). The movie is a surrealistic drama-piece, that we want to send to several film festivals. The trailer files (<10 MB) does not have yet English subtitles included (the movie itself has English and German subtitles on the dvd). But I'd like to share the music and atmosphere it reflects of our production. A fast and rough translation is as follows: - women: You see yourself. But when you close your eyes, you see nothing. - man voiceover: it's better not to talk to other people. - women wisphers: I know what you're up to! - man voiceover: When you think about it, you find out how humble and little knowing you are. More info about the story etc can be found at www.orphicfilm.nl/html/aw.html Check the trailer (QT and WMV) at www.orphicfilm.nl/html/aw-media.html (some people have trouble playing the QT version with the newest QT7 player for Windows). The movie shot with a DVX100 (PAL version), we did a letterbox to anamorphic widescreen conversion using Vegas. Best regards, |
cool, I just looked at it. Unfortnatelly I don't understand the dialog, but the images speak for themselves. Good acting, and I like the mistery of it all. No go check mine!! hehe www.nothingmanfilms.com . I just posted mine, and I'm looking for comments. What camera did u use for your film?

We used a DVX100 (PAL). I did some quick subtitle translation in my initial message.
The Coconut story looks funny and bizar. No idea what it's about, and the trailer gives you the idea it could go anywhere. Only comment I want to make is that the titles-part at the end is too long. |
