Latest Short

Hey guys,

This is a short piece that I did for a class. I shot and edited it in 2 days. All the footage was shot on my XL2. Please feel free to comment all you like. This is my first time posting any of my work and am looking for as much constructive criticism as possible.

Brian,

VERY nice. The beginning did not initially hook me, but the different "views" of his life were so well done & captivating. Nice syncronization, good activity shots of the band. Personaly I would have liked just a bit more light on face in subsequent hallway shots after the initial run, but I realize that might conflict with the look you were going for. Thnaks for sharing!

Impressive! Interesting watching which shots cutaway quickly, & which linger - how did you choose? The night shot against the water was tremendous, great colors. By the way, the "Made in Oregon" sign in the background was super.

I loved it. The concept, the tempo of the editing, the colour, it just all worked so well. Im used to seeing video that could easily fit on television but as a whole package this not only fits on television it far surpasses many music videos i am use to seeing on a daily basis. So fill us in then, what did you shoot it on, edit etc

Looked really good. Maybe a bit more race footage, an onboard clip coming around a corner. What is your onboard set up?

Really nice. You just nailed the light - especially the dark band shots. The band must be very happy.

Looks great! I recognize the opening song from another short.
What's it called?

Great teaser, very professional looking.

Best of luck.

All the onboard was from 2005 rallies. Using an ebay lipstick camera. Our new car should debut at the first round of the Max Attack championship at the Oregon Trail Rally in May. As of now I am planning on using a Sanyo Xacti HD1a an Aiptek A-HD and an ebay lipstick, in various configurations. I'd like to get another Xacti to use for interviews and stuff around the service park.

I've posted an HD version on Vimeo to test it out:

If I'm not mistaken, the opening song is from the Flashback scene of Shawshank Redemption. Where Andy catches his wife with another man.
I've defiantly heard it, and that's the only scene I can think of that it's in.
