F355 180 degree shutter
When I loaned an F350 a few weeks back it had a shutter setting for 180 degrees which when set stayed at 180 when changing frame rates, so at 25P it'd be 1/50th, then in Slow/Quick mode set it to 50fps and it'd be 1/100th etc. With the F355 it doesn't seem to do that. The menu settings are slightly different, and in shutter settings there is only a choice of displaying speed or degree, but it seems that whatever you tell it to display it stills just deals with speeds, so if you set 25P, then choose degrees, set 180 degree with the shutter switch it'll give you 1/50th of a second. But then change frame rate and it'll still give 1/50th second, but the degrees will change! So at 50fps it'll say 360 degrees, ie 1/50th second!
Any ideas? Steve |

There was always a choice of displaying the shutter speed in degrees rather than seconds, but the latest firmware version 1.93 adds the ability to specify shutter in degrees. I think the latter setting is what you are looking for. Perhaps the F355 doesn't have the latest firmware on it.
Go to Diagnosis menu page 4 (ROM version). This will tell you what firmware the camera has. -gb- |

Thanks Greg, I've got 1.76 I think it said. Funny though that with the F350 it worked fine!
