HDR FX1 1440x1080 FILMBACK/CCD dimensions for Matchmoving
Does anyone out there know the EXACT size if the CCD on a SONY HDR-FX1 in milimiters? I am doing a 3-D match move for a sequence I shot on my FX-1. I am using a software called Maya and need to know the size of the filmback wich, in this case, refers to the size of the CCD. The average filmback size for 35mm is 9.875 x 7.351. I think I need it measured to the thousandths decimal. The 1/3" the manual gives is not going to cut it. Anyone have this info. Have not been able to find it anywhere. Any thoughts?
Would the same measurements would be used for DV? I need the filmback/CCD dimensions, the CAMERA aperture. Not the standard 1/3" 1,170,000 pixel figures you see in the manual. I already checked that. For an instance the cannon XL-1 Specs are: Chip size- 6.08 X 5.00 mm Image area- 4.82 X 3.64 mm Thanks. -Luis |

I'm guessing it is going to be close to the XL-1 specs. Only thing that might be different is that the XL-1 is 4:3 where any HD camera should be 16:9. But if we go off the XL-1 chip, which has a diagonal legnth of 6.04mm. If that is constant for all 1/3" cameras, then a HD camera w/ a 16:9 chip would have these dimensions:
2.96mm 5.26mm

Luis.
You may need to get information from Sony. You may need to ask How many active pixels high. How many active pixels wide. Are pixels square or rectangle. What size is each pixel high. What size is each pixel wide. How many pixels per millemetre high. How many pixels per millemetre wide. Please wait for wiser people to make comment here before you follow my words.
