FX1 Run Time.

Hi all,

This is my first post. Something that I have wanted to know since I got my FX1E over 6 years ago:

The Z1 has a menu function that enables the total drum, tape threaded and operating hours to be displayed. The FX1 does not include this in the menu but I'm sure that the firmware stores the values somewhere in NVM for servicing/warranty reasons.
The TRV900 had such a scheme which could be accessed by a service version of the RM95 LANC controller.

Has anybody here ever heard whether the FX1 has such a facility?

Thanks

Steve

No menu, but I remember seeing something in one of the threads years back that there is a reader that can get into internal information for service and warranty purposes. Whether or not in covers all that is revealed in the menus is unclear to me.

Re: FX1 Run Time.

I had this done for my FX1s before I sold them. You need to go into a service center that has a diagnostic remote and they can read out all the hours for you. You need a chart to interpret the hex values but it has all the same info as the Z1.

Re: FX1 Run Time.

Adam,

That's what I assumed. I have a diagnostic remote which I bought to be able to check my TRV900, (amongst other things). Years ago, John Beal posted the memory locations on his very useful TRV900 website. See here:

rm95

I wondered if anybody here knew the respective memory locations for the data on the FX1.

Re: FX1 Run Time.

I remember we had to look in a service manual of some sort. The FX1 service manual I have makes no mention of this, so it must be somewhere else. Wish I could help more.

Ah! Found it, in the Z1 service manual:

Re: FX1 Run Time.

Adam,

I checked the figures in the memory locations that you gave me from the Z1 manual and I get:

257 hours powered up
141 hours drum rotation
97 hours tape running
355 unload counts

I then unloaded and reloaded the tape and the last figure rose by 1. I've been trying to find this out since I bought the camera in 2005. Thanks very much for the info.

Steve

I doubt that I can get the same memory location information for my HC3.
