Serggio, it looks like what you see is normal for this camera, if this is not the quality level you want I guess the only thing you can do is to sell the camera.

Hi Serggio

"No profile" should give you a lot more colour depth than your videos are showing ... are you sure you haven't got an EV positive value enabled in the menu ... with no profile the saturation for both my cameras is a LOT more than your images that look washed out. With no profile I actually need to reduce the saturation and limit the black level as it's so intense!! I wonder if that sensor was cleaned correctly of they left a film smear over it as all your files have very little punch in them!!

I did a wedding a while ago with no profile and the guy's black suits had almost no detail in them ..it looks like you camera is running quite over-exposed for some reason? What are zebras set at ..If you set to 90% and shoot a nice balanced scene you certainly shouldn't see any zebra stripes in the EVF

No, you have optical zoom and then you have digital zoom, digital zoom makes the aliasing and moire worse. Check out below video I made starting from sec 00:20

I don't have the camera anymore so I can't walk you true it but can you tell me for point 1 "digital zoom off or on"; how is it set at this moment in your camera, on or off?

Re: Pixellation in 50P/60P mode

Just to be clear, digital zoom must be set to "off", I would never use it as it magnifies the moire and aliasing a lot like you can see in my video. For the difference between optical and digital zoom, if you just google it you get many articles explaining it, to put it simple, optical zoom always gives teh best quality, with digital zoom you get resolution loss and more moire and aliasing.

There is no setting for that, optical zoom means the camera using the lens optics to zoom, digital zoom gives you extra zoom reach but the camera uses a sensor crop to digitally zoom in on the image and that is always with image quality loss.

Hey Serggio,

Where in Greece do you live? We come to Greece almost every year, a different area each visit, but unfortunately only for two weeks at a time and it would be interesting to know if we have visited your town.

We are just back from Tigaki, Kos.

Dave

:) Sorry but I don't use facebook, but if you have any more questions about the camera you can always ask, problem is I have not used the camera in over half a year so it becomes difficult to remember how it worked. Like any camera it takes some time to get through all settings and often just a simple setting can have bigger consequences on how the image looks like. I had tested the nex-ea50 a lot when I just got it and that's why I found out about the digital zoom issue, I kept a blog that I don't use anymore but maybe it can be of use to you: Sony NEX-EA50 | All you need to know about the Sony nex-ea50
