Thoughts on this shoulder rig?
Hey everyone,
I am in the market for a shoulder rig for the NX5, i want a unit that can support a matte box down the road and contain the functionality of a rail system. I found this on Ebay, let me know your thoughts or if there are better alternatives.. PROAIM DV DSLR SHOULDER Mount RIG 190 Steadycam Stabilization System Rod Support | eBay The only thing that i would change on this system, would be the placement of the handles, since i won't have a matte box on it yet, the handles are placed way to far ahead. does anyone know if it is possible if i can mount the handles onto the main rods? instead of adding on that extra bracket that extends the unit. Let me know your thoughts, Mike |

I'm a fan of the Gini Rigs.
Solid machining and parts. He has a bunch of different configs . . . don't buy it now, be patient and bid low I got one with a follow focus for $300. I've found that the 'backweight' at the rear is fairly important for a good stable shot. Gini Shoulder Rig for Video / Filmmaking Support Stabilizer | eBay |

Re: Thoughts on this shoulder rig?
Thanks Mike, I was considering building a shoulder mount rail system from scratch, from bits and pieces bought off ebay. That Proaim listing shows me everything I need!
I'll add it up, and see whether the Proaim looks cheaper. Personally, I'm not after a 2 handed model though. |
