pentacon six adapter on fs700
Recently I bought "Pentacony 6 to sony nex" adapter from ebay - "Queam shop in china" Mount Adapter Ring For Pentacon 6 Screw Lens Lens to Sony NEX Camera with Tripod | eBay
Adapter is perfectly working on my Sony nex5 but doesn't fit to FS700?! Cameras have the same mount and i'm using different adapters (m39-nex, m42-nex, practicar pb-nex...) on both cameras which all works. I don't understand where is the problem? Please Help! |

Re: pentacon six adapter on fs700
Are you finding that it is too tight to fit on the FS700 e-mount?
If yes this has been seen before. It is usually caused by the powder coating on the adapter being too thick on the back of the adapter's e-mount flanges. Grab one of your wife's or girl friend's emery boards that they use for sanding down their finger nails. Gently run the emery board behind each flange giving each flange an even number of strokes until the adapter mount just starts to fit into the e-mount. Once it just starts to fit go slowly working each flange evenly a little bit at a time until the mount fully engages with a firm but not too tight fit. Make sure you keep the emery board as square and flat as possible to the flange face when sanding. VERY IMPORTANT! Every time you sand a little make sure you CLEAN ALL THE SANDING DUST out of the adapter flanges. You do not want any of that getting into you camera lens mount. This process has worked for me in the past and should work for you. Just be patient slow and steady with the sanding and clean the mount every time you check it for fit and you should solve the problem. Chris Young CYV Productions Sydney |

Re: pentacon six adapter on fs700
What might work better and be more controllable than an emery board is an India or Arkansas abrasive stone. They come in triangular cross sections. Depending on the speed of material removal, grit sizes vary, but the stones are very flat and sit flat against flat surfaces to remove material evenly whereas an emery board is a pressed paper carrier in between what is rougher grit that can flex around a bit.
