Sony TRV950 or PDX10
I am looking for a secondhand backup camcorder for my TRV950 which I use for underwater work. Either another 950 or a PDX10, my housing will only accept these two camcorders and I want get a spare whilst I still can get one.
A colleague of mine uses a PDX10 and comparing the results he gets with what I get from my 950 his are far superior in terms of brightness and low light sensitivity. Can anyone remember if these two cameras use the same chips? is the PDX10 better? I have the option of purchasing a PDX10 with 240 hours head use and 180 hours showing on tape. Should I go for this or look for another 950? I was a bit put off when I found out that the PDX10 has a monochrome viewfinder, but this is not a major factor. What is a good life expectancy for the heads? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve |
