Owners of PD170/VX2100, please help with this question+

I am wondering if the new viewfinder on the PD170/VX2100 can slide off like on the old PD150/VX2k? Is it basically the same lcd with a larger magnified viewfinder? I use it for an underwater housing and the space is tight. Need to know if it's possible to upgrade to the new camera with existing hardware. Thanks.

Yes it does slide off. As a matter of fact, I just tried it yesterday. Just press a spring loaded button, and off it comes.

Thx, just received mine and verified it too+

Had a bit of a panic attack when the manufacturer of my video housing said it wouldn't fit. Goes to show people should really test before going public.
