Steady shot on or off for the EX1

What are the thoughts keeping the steady shot on while using a tripod.
I’m finding even the smallest bump with steady shot off or panning the lens seems to wobble.

I would go for steadyshot off - with it on, there is a noticeable lag when you start a pan, and a catch-up at the end. If you are getting wobble with the tripod on a firm surface, you may need to check the tripod, head or camera plate.

If what your tripod is on is not particularly firm, steadyshot on may give better results.

I agree with Nick.

Tripod = Steadyshot off (unless your tripod is on shaky ground or something)
Handheld = Steadyshot on

When on a tripod, by all means, turn it off. Otherwise you run the very real risk of messing up a one-in-a-lifetime shot.

I know, because I've done it!
