Intercutting Ex-1 with canon HG10

I'm shooting a home repair instructional video tomorrow where the main shooting will be done with 2 EX-1's but other scenes will be done with a Canon HG-10 which I am just looking at now and don't know much about .
I'm not sure what it will be cut on - I suspect Final Cut Pro, though Vegas is another possibility.

Couple of questions -
Do I want to shoot in 24P or 60i ( generally prefer progressive )

I assume i want to shoot the EX @ 1080 since the canon is also 1080, but the EX is 1920 x1080 and the Canon 1440 x 1080
How will this work in a timeline in FCP and do I need anything to adjust the difference in pixel count or size?

How do I get the HG10 video into Final Cut Pro?

Thanks

I will only use the EX1 Cameras and forget the third one... I think u gone lost times anq quality shooting and editing with the third camera if u do not master it.

That is not an option. This is a 2 day shoot and the second day which is a different situation altogether has no budget so they are going with cameras they own. No room for discussion at all.

I use a Canon HG-10 with my EX1 and vegas, i just chuck them both on the same timeline, no problems, vegas isn't fussy.
I've got so say, the canon does give a pretty good picture.
The canon does do 25p, and i believe that it's full res, ie 1920x1080, so there's always that option.

Canon Vixia 20 and EX1

This was shot with the Canon Vixia 20 and EX1...both just put on same time line in FCP. No problem. The EX1 was interview with woman and some trail footage, the rest was EX1. We were so impressed with the Vixia 20 footage that we purchased a Vixia 30 last week new for $575. Hope this helps.

Hdv

Sp on EX1 = HDV, it should made the editing easier with the Canon Cam.
