Any Lens recommendation ( 28 to 135-200mm ) for this Camera with or without adaptor with power zoom, auto iris, Full Frame, 4K resolution, other than the FS7K kit lens, that can open up to 2.8 iris, under $3000.

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
Hi Mike,
I've gone ahead and ordered the SELP18105G. By all accounts it sounds like a pretty good 'bang for buck' lens until Im in a position to buy the 28135 down the track. I really like the Sigma 18-35 so will be keen to see how it goes with FS7 using a metabones adapter. Picking up the FS7 tomorrow! My trusty EX1 can enjoy a well earnt semi-retirement as my B cam :-) |
Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
Picked up my new FS7. Very different beast to the EX1!
Ive unscrewed one of the cable supports on the remote arm so I can get it on a tripod without having to take the thing off. As a fairly tall guy I cant see myself shoulder mounting the FS7. I will be pushing it into my chest like I do with other camera's. The remote arm will still be a great help though. 18105G lens and metabones adapter for my 1835 here tomorrow. Looking forward to getting to know this cam well! |
Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
It is too bad that the new power zoom (Sony FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS Lens) has that darn crop factor. Not wide enough for general ENG or EFP especially in tight spaces, it seems like a good idea to stick with 1/2' for such purposes.
