How to mount a PIX 240?

I’m trying to decide... the best way to mount a PIX 240 on my Sony FS100.
There are three things I want to accomplish:
1. Have the camera sitting directly above my shoulder.
2. Use the 5” PIX monitor as the viewfinder when handholding.
3. Add a battery to the rig.

The monitor needs to sit at least 13 inches from my eye, so that I can focus with my glasses. This may work with a zoom lens, but the monitor will definitely be in shot, when using a shorter fixed lens.

To solve this problem, I've been toying with the idea of adding a viewfinder to the PIX monitor.
I’ve taken the finder, which is included with the FS100 and temporarily taped it to the hood of the PIX.
My eye now rests approximately 8” from the monitor.

I've been looking at the systems from Berkey Systems, Solid Camera and Zacuto...
In the meantime, I’ve temporarily built a simple system with some Red Rock parts, but I need something much more stable.

Any suggestions?

Bill

I stepped into this:

The evf support might work as a external monitor/Pix support. I quite like the thing..

Hi Bill,

Have you played with the PIX yet to make sure the monitor was sufficient for focus?

It's a very good monitor Chris... better than the camera monitor.
