Shooting NASCAR

If anyone is a NASCAR fan I just posted 7 photos from a Winston cup race on my web site. They can be viewed by clicking on my web button below and going to the photo gallery. SpeedWorld Magazine just published 26 photos from the same shoot in their current issue; it includes a 4 page photo gallery of my work. I’m not trying to knock myself out with a pat on the back, the truth is, after all of these years I still enjoy seeing my work published, especially because I do so much corporate work these days instead of editorial work.

Good looking shots Steven, thanks for linking. The pit crew shot shows great action, very nice.

Thank you Jeff. The pit crew shot is one of the shots that is published. I like the 2 zooms because the effect was done in camera, not photoshop (those are from the original uncroped files). The funny thing is that these days everyone assumes it was manipulated so those kind of shots have little value. The Dale Jr #8 is priceless however because I printed it 13x19 and it is thumb tacked over my 6 year olds bed.

Brings back some memories of PIR while growing up as a kid in Phoenix.......(1962-1984)

But, back then they only ran the indy cars out there.

Thanks for the prop Dan. Last week I shot a Historic Grand Prix at PIR. I probably shot some of the same Indy cars you saw run back then.
