Digital juice is running a special on their package, 33 CDs for $99. Limited time offer.

I just got the Digital Juice $99 package. It's got great variety with hundreds of songs in :30, :60, and full (usually 2:30 to 4:30) in length. It's a great buy.

Where'd you see that? I was just on the Digital Juice website but couldn't find any mention of a set of 33 CDs for $99. Got a URL handy?

Archive.org has Public Domain and Creative Commons-licensed music for your productions.

Also, of you're releasing your project under a Creative Commons license, you can find great stuff at magnatune.com

If anyone is looking for music, I am a musician and I'm interested in making my music available for projects. I'll do it for ridiculously cheap, just because I like getting my stuff out there.

If you would like samples of my work, email me at speak at JLBoyce.com

Using BMI Royalty Free Music in TV Spot?

So, I'm a little confused right now. I used a piece of royalty free music that I bought for a TV spot my company produced. Now, I am trying to file the cue sheet with BMI, but it seems a little absurd what I have to do. They want me to fill out the :

"BMI Commercial Jingles Data Sheet and a copy of the Sync License between the publisher and the advertising agency", and "A CD(audio), audiocassette, DVD, VHS videotape or QUICKTIME (PC version) of the commercial as broadcast." and "Performance information submitted must include the network or station call letters and the specific air dates for each performance. Redacted copies of station invoices will also be accepted. BMI encourages electronic submission of airdates on either diskette or E-mail using MICROSOFT EXCEL or other compatible software."

Do I really have to do to file a friggin cuesheet?! With ASCAP, all I had to do was file the cue sheet. Easy as pie...

How do you all file cuesheets?

Thanks,

Matthew Rogers

Haven't used them but....

Is the BMI cuesheet that different than the ASCAP cuesheet? I have not used that sort of royalty free music before and if it requires that detailed of reporting I may not. Why buy royalty free music if they want a copy of every single piece that it is used on?

That's kinda how I'm feeling. Though, we don't do a ton of broadcast work, I'd still rather (and will look for) use ASCAP music if I'm gonna have to do all this crap for BMI.

Royalty free music: 50's

Can anyone point me to a list that shows royalty free songs from the 50's?

If there is one...

Cheers,

Mike

Excellent product and service

I have always found the right music and received fantastic service at www.shockwave-sound.com. The variety is great and ever growing and the pricing exceptionally fair (don't tell them that - for obvious reasons). You even get a license with tracks.

Hi Mike, how big is the file at the end of your latest short link?
Rather than direct link to it, please - would you consider placing it in an html page to view online rather than download? Cheers
Dave

His link is to a 75MB file.

Oh, and Dave, great link. I will add it to my list on my web site.

As far as Rotalty Free songs from any era, it is difficult since most of them are copyrighted. Any song you have heard is probably too expensive to license and certainly will not be royalty-free.
