I'm 49... and holding. Started at age 10 in 1966 with an 8mm film camera. I admit to an extensive 3/4-inch U-Matic library, BetacamSP library, and machines to play them. MAN, does the DV library look puny next to THOSE! I mean, it takes dozens of DV tapes to fill the space of a few BetacamSP 60-minute master reels. Somehow, it just looks... wierd.
Luckily, the older I get, the lighter and smaller the gear gets. THAT, I like. Rich |

ehh..., average-shmaverage.......
Ken, you should ponder the age thing with the no of post (or reads) to get the real age representation on this board.....(kiddn) Same BD as Rasputin (1959 though) so... 46 years young! (IF, you don't mind) With as many tech temptations around, s'gonna take me 4ever to figure what I want to do when I grew up. (my kids know better) Got hooked on B/W film, prints, darkroom, lens an-ol-that at the tender age of 14 though.....(hair of the dog that bit me was (seldom)........ in the gate. hehehe (;-)< |
28 is creepin' up on me!!

Just Starting out
Hi everyone,
I'm glad to be able to post on this great site. I have just recently discovered this fantastic source of information when looking for info on a Canon GL2 I have rented for a summer job. I'm just a young lad at the age of 20 but plan to be hanging around cameras for many years to come. -Justin |
Man, I'm gettin old, I'm about to hit 23 in couple of weeks. Kinda depressing actually, the point in my life where I am seeing all my high school friends, turn from boys to mature men in many different ways. Life sux, lets make the best of it. :)

Why, I'd be 17. And lucky enough to have a father who's willing to bankroll my video hobby. He's 50-something.

I'm 27 :-)

New to the site (good work guys) and 45 years young, well,.....old.
I started hobby filming with Super 8 in 1976 (Canon Autozoom 1014 electronic). I switched to video in 1986 with a Panasonic VHS shoulder camcorder and stopped again pretty soon because of the crappy image quality and editing possibilities. Second try in video with DV in 1999. In my business (computers) I'm specialized a bit in NLE systems based on Apple and FCP. I love videography and have created beside some event videos a couple of short projects based on travel reports or projects putting classical music into pictures (Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" i.e.). Actually I use a Canon XM1 (GL1) and I'm planning to switch to a JVC GY-HD100 as soon as I'm sure that it fits my needs and it's available. Since some time I'm a (volunteer) forum moderator at an Australian adult website and I'm working in my free time to get my own web & media business (beside the computers) up and running http://www.outline-media.com. I'm 19 years young.
