A solicitor said officers prevented Jules Mattsson - then 15 - from taking pictures at a military parade in Romford, east London, in June 2010. The Metropolitan Police said compensation had been paid and an apology issued. Law firm Bindmans, which represented the youngster, said a police inspector had described photographing in public as "anti-social behaviour".

Our client politely and reasonably maintained that the police were not entitled to interfere with his right to report. "In response the inspector used serious anti-terrorism legislation, cynically telling Mr Mattsson 'I consider you a threat under the Terrorism Act young man. I've had enough'.

Our local Cub Scout troop was going to march in the local Christmas parade... the troop leader sent out a notice from the parade organizers that some company CLAIMED all copyright on the event, and photos and video would be prohibited...

I was tempted to go, fully rigged and shoot like a madman, but decided instead just to not participate...

When "the powers that be" misuse the law to restrict fundamental freedoms, the "terrorists" win. Be they crazies in a cave, or suits in a window suite.

Glad to see a WIN for freedom, but it's so sad to see that one needs to fight to such a degree...
