5 inch detachable LCD monitor

I am interested to know if anyone knows if there is a detachable LCD screen that can be mounted to a full size cam?

My Panasonic AG-DVC62 camera has a small 2.5 LCD that has rather poor quality and is just to small to look at for some of the long shoots that I do.

Any brands out there?

I too am in the same boat, but it's something that must be tried before you hand over the cash, I feel.

Products: 7 inch lcd monitors, 7 inch tft lcd monitor vga composite :ESAW Small LCD Monitor Specialist

is a cheap composite screen, but I'm after something that can display the on-screen info that my NX5 uses a micro-font for.

Re: 5 inch detachable LCD monitor

Sony has just released a new monitor that should do the trick for you...CVM 055 is the model, I believe, under $500.
There are many options; it all depends on what sort of resolution you're after. I have a 7in. Lilliput monitor on my rig that works perfectly for what I want it for, and it was under $300 for monitor, two spare batteries, HDMI cable, articulated arm, hot shoe mount, sun shields, etc.
You can also spend 10 times that for a similar sized HD monitor with all the bells and whistles

I have the Sony monitor. It works great inside but, is useless outside, even with the shade.

Are you sure you have that Sony model number correct?

A Google search for that model number only turns up your post:

Sony monitor + CVM-055 - Google Search

Unless it is a Canadian only model?

Re: 5 inch detachable LCD monitor

Thanks,

John

On the SonyStyle website there was this user comment on the CLM-V55:

"It's well known that when you press the record button on the Canon 5D MK II, the output resolution goes down to 480. Marshall Electronics and SmallHD offer monitors that solve this problem so that the image fills the screen and does shrink down to half the size."

CLM-V55 | Portable Monitor| Sony | Sony Style USA

Confirmed here:

If that's true, it's practically useless.
