It's actually really small (much smaller than my Sennheiser G3 transmitter). It only uses a single AAA battery so it's much lighter than the G3 too, plus there's no antenna.

You can check out this really nice review where it's compared to the Zoom H1 so that you can see the size difference:

Michael - this sounds like a good option. I'm assuming a G2/G3 Sennheiser mic is compatible with this?

If you purchase the Tascam DR-10CS then that will be compatible with either the G2 or G3. There's another version called the DR-10CL which is made for Lectrosonics and I think it has a different connector. In the DR-10CS menu you can select "Sennheiser" so that it knows what type of transmitter you're connected to for the passthrough.

I see there is a DR-10C and DR-10CS but neither seem to be sold in the US. Anyone know where to purchase?

Hey Chris,

I typically don't clip it on the grooms belt, I go for the breast pockets if I can. Typically the groom has stuff in there that he has to empty so I don't get too much push back on it. My Sennheiser g3 doesn't look to bad in there so I'm wondering if I could rig this, one gizmo in one pocket and wired to another back to the other pocket.

My Tascam DR-10 arrived today - I haven't tried it out yet but wow I love the size of this unit - smaller than my G2 transmitter. Thanks for the tip on this MIke.

That's good to hear that you got your DR-10! They are very small which I think is really helpful when placing it on a groom or officiant. I've also found that when hooked up to my ME-2 it sounds much better than my G3 system does, and I don't have to worry about interference.

Steve did you find a UK supplier for your Aspen mics? I'd like to avoid the import duty and extortionate post office charge if possible

They have them as 'unavailable' on Amazon

Cheers

Hi Steve

Just for interest I have two Azden setups and the 503 lav's gave me a load of uphill over the years ...maybe the cable and/or the jack plug goes faulty but they were not nearly as good I found as other lavs especially when it comes to durability !! All 3 of mine tended to go bad after a couple of months and being sealed the capsule is non repairable but I felt the main issue was the jack plug as it tended to be very noisy when you wiggled it around.

Pete? you can also get 503's on eBay if you want them ...Azden mics are made in Japan and you can get the genuine mic pre-packed form Hong Kong for $19.95 !!!
