Update

I just did a test using my HM200 mounted on the Sirui and using the VariZoom VZ-Rock LANC controller. With the camera at mid-chest height and hand holding the VZ-Rock I was able to focus both manually and using autofocus, and zoom from full wide to full telephoto while achieving rock-steady footage through out. Not having to touch the camera is what makes this work. Any touch will cause 5-6 seconds of slight oscillation.

So I believe the Sirui monopod will allow me to greatly expand my mobility at events using my existing bodies since it has such a small footprint and is so quick to set up. Longer term I would like to achieve the mobility I enjoy with my still cameras. So I see a something like a GH5 in my future.
