Compression zoom, contra zoom...I haven't actually heard of those terms, but yeah, that's what it is. Zooming out while pushing in with the camera, or vice versa. I see it all the time in movies and TV shows. Normally, it would be carefully done with a dolley, distances measured out, rehearsed, etc. With weddings, it's kind of a crap shoot - one take with the glidecam, hit the shot transition button, and hope for the best.
