Vegas 8, any improvement to playback of HD?

any improvement to playback of hd video during editing? especially on a second (or third in my case) screen.

I have found that while working on hd footage it plays slow and stutters on a 42inch screen at full size, even when playing proxy files, whereas its plays smoother when you set the properties to a smaller setting like 720 instead of 1080 just it interpolates it up so its not as clear, Was wondering if this is improved in vegas 8

Also what other goodies were upgraded or is there a page of improvements listed somewhere. Thanks

Hi,

I have noticed a tremendeous speedup in both HD and SD playback rates, going from 7e to V8! Both on external monitor via 1394, and on the computer monitor, and in the preview window! Only this detail almosta made upgrading worth it!

Great! I'll be upgrading from 7 to 8 in a few weeks so I'm looking forward to the improved preview speed.

I don't get it because I see absolutely no difference. On the other hand, my playback speed was never all that bad, so I am curious: how bad was it for you, Christian, before your upgrading?

In my case, the playback speed of my 720p projects are correctly playing 24fps in the preview window, set at Best/Full, but go down to about 19fps when I activate the secondary preview monitor. I was hoping for 24fps in both cases but nothing has changed.

Yes... I'm finding it quicker as well. Love the multicam feature too.
