Decklink - recommended for Vegas?

Hi all,
is there much value in investing in a Decklink with Vegas being my primary editing app? I have just bought an EX1 and wonder if another $1000 in Decklink card is going to affect workflow any great shakes -speed, quality etc? I'm thinking the main benefit is to be able to pump a signal out to a HD monitor. I understand there are currently driver issues with V8 but they will eventually be solved. How many of us are using Vegas under Decklink? What are your experiences? Without a Decklink or similar card, what do people use for monitoring in HD? Through the camera like I used to with my DV cams? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Regards,
David.
