It has been enabled in 9, though I think that it would appear that some formats still playback better with it disabled - haven't tested to know that for certain however.

Well I tried turning back off and no improvement.
Tested with some 1080 30p AVCHD stuff with minor corrections and some simple fades.

Can't get decent preview playback at all. I still get much better playback with 8.0c with the same clip...

This situation with poor playback with V9 64 bit is unfortunate, and hard to believe. Doesn't make sense.

In many situations these differences would be relatively minor, I think, but I am often using lots of wedding photos, so for me this is a bit of a downer. I had huge hopes for this version's performance.

I upgraded my Ultimate S for $99 dollars specifically to use with upgrade, and I now feel I should have waited, but that was my mistake, I put the horse before the cart.

Well VASST upgraded their Gearshift program to work with 9.0, so it looks like I will continue to use proxy files...
It works good, just adds more time....

Gearshift is a great program, but I agree it would be even nicer to skip that step.
