Capturing Analog Video w/Compression?

Is there a setting in Vegas that affects what compression you capture analog video at? I am running my VCR into an Osprey Card using composite, but it is using about a gigabyte per minute of video. I have used this set up before but never ran out of HD space doing it. Is there a setting that allows me to capture in a compressed format on the fly?

The other option I have is to use Windows Media Encoder (or whatever it's called these days) to capture and compress, but that seems a bit convoluted.

Thanks!

Vegas compress video during capture using AJA/Declink capture cards with IMX codec for SD or XDCAM HD 422 for HD.
