What bitrate for bluray?

DVD Architect defaults to 18 Mbps. When I rendered in Vegas Pro 12, I normally selected max of 20 and average of 10. Is that overkill, or OK? Should I increase the rate in DVDA?
Thanks,

Re: What bitrate for bluray?

It is not resonable to choose too low a bitrate, if the length of the film and disk size allows the use of larger bitrate.

Re: What bitrate for bluray?

I shoot with AVCHD so for something less than 2 hours I use 21 Av and 28 max to match the source AVCHD.
