John Inman May 5th, 2006, 03:52 PM Sold and ready to ship! Betsy Moore May 5th, 2006, 07:45 PM Hi, had an HD-1 for a while and traded in for an FX1-E. Forgot to load one of the JVC tapes into the computer and I have no way to use it. Does anyone in the Los Angeles area want to either rent me JVC HD camera for a day or trade for the use of an FX1-E for a day? Matt Trubac May 5th, 2006, 08:31 PM I've only used Fuji tapes and have cleaned the heads with a head cleaner after every full tape has been used. For future reference, you don't need to clean the video heads that often unless their is a problem. Cleaning cassettes are abrasive and will wear down the head prematurely if used excessively or improperly. Giroud Francois May 6th, 2006, 02:37 AM did you try to read the JVC tape on the FX1 ? For me it worked .... David J. Payne May 6th, 2006, 02:45 AM i have the same name as you.... anyway i take it this is NTSC? want a PAL version :( Betsy Moore May 6th, 2006, 03:04 AM I can read it on the camera but it won't load onto the computer. Elsewhere on the site they said you couldn't do that. Were you able to download any footage on your computer? Craig Sovereign May 6th, 2006, 06:34 AM I got the FX1 yesterday. It is in perfect condition. Thanks Jack. If anyone has the opportunity to purchase anything from Jack in the future, I highly recommend it. He was very professional and accomodating. Giroud Francois May 6th, 2006, 06:53 AM i never try, i just put a jvc a 720p30 jvc HD1 into my new FX1 and was a bit surprised to read it (mainly because my FX1 is a PAL model 1080i50 and my HD1 is the US model). It is strange that if it displays on the LCD of the cam , it should go out on the firewire too.... Will give a try next time. John Inman May 6th, 2006, 08:02 AM Still available John Inman May 6th, 2006, 08:03 AM Still available Giroud Francois May 6th, 2006, 12:39 PM Probably sold already.... Bob Benkosky May 6th, 2006, 01:19 PM Actually......I only ran a cleaner thru it after about 2-3 tapes, but one time i noticed a drop out so I cleaned it. I also only ran it thru very quickly, not a long time. Picture is crisp. Michael Totten May 6th, 2006, 02:36 PM Panasonic DVX-100 for sale. Three 5 hour batteries Two chargers One "hoodman" LCD Cover One Porta Brace camera bag One box of Panasonic Tape Stock Original box, manual and documentation included. Used on two documentaries, always babied. I Just had serviced/cleaned two days ago at "The Video Clinic" in Santa Monica... which is an authorized Panasonic maintenance shop. PERFECT working order. $2,000 takes all. Prefer local Los Angeles pick up but will consider sending via insured UPS. I'm selling because I need $ for more P2 cards for my HVX. Also I have a Chrosziel 4X4 matte box made specifically for the DVX-100. I bought it two months ago from "EVS" in Glendale (paid $900). Used several days on a documentary I just wrapped. Will sacrifice and sell for $700 (this matte box is BRAND NEW). Once again I’m selling this matte box because I’m upgrading to the HVX matte box. Paul Reichelt May 6th, 2006, 02:38 PM Just a comment about before, it really does produce a great picture from what I've seen Ben post with it, even before some of the improvements he's listing, it was making a BANG-UP picture really, really good. John Inman May 6th, 2006, 02:45 PM Sold as noted! Thanks Giroud! Kin Kwan May 6th, 2006, 03:08 PM Hello, Michael! How many hours are on the heads? Can you post some pics? John Terendy May 6th, 2006, 03:46 PM Used on maybe 3-4 jobs. Realized that I actually need a larger capcacity Sachtler. Please email me and make an offer and I'll send fotos. i am located in Chicago. Giroud Francois May 6th, 2006, 03:54 PM product received and installed ok. good and fast business.... David M. Payne May 6th, 2006, 06:39 PM i have the same name as you.... anyway i take it this is NTSC? want a PAL version :( Watch your back around any of the big three Abrahamic religious fundamentalists, they don't like me to much. Do a yahoo search on my full name and you will see why. Other than that it is a great name, but not as rare as it used to be. Catch you later. Can't help you on the camera though. David Jon Omiatek May 6th, 2006, 10:56 PM Camera Command Training DVD for sale $50 + Shipping and 3% more if you want to use paypal. Email - jon(AT)trulux.com Thanks, Jon Bruce S. How many hours are on the heads? Can you post some pics? There are 415 hours on the camera. These are all easy shooting hours... mostly interviews on sticks. These are NOT start and stop hours or deck hours. M- Cole McDonald May 7th, 2006, 10:58 AM The google says: http://www.cameracommand.com/ Betsy Moore May 7th, 2006, 12:32 PM Let me know if it works for you, I haven't had any luck. Giroud Francois May 7th, 2006, 01:52 PM just tried to capture from firewire, but it fails. probably because the HDlink apps was waiting for 1080i and was receiveing somithing else. i will try with my JVC utility to see if it works better. Bill Porter May 7th, 2006, 02:28 PM I'm not trying to be a jerk here but where on earth do you come up with "Used it to shoot the most popular music video on the Web (perhaps in history)" ??? Feel free to contact me with any questions or picture requests: s.smith@hphant.com Forgot to post earlier: This camera is located in sunny San Francisco. Andy Salmons May 7th, 2006, 04:22 PM Hi, This is a slightly used WR-HD1 in excellent condition. I purchased the housing very impulsively off of ebay. I've never used it under water w/ a hd1 but i have tested to see if the seals are working. There is no leakage and all the controls are fine. If you have any questions or would like pictures just let me know. I'm hoping to sell it for around $600 or best offer. Thanks and have a great day Andy Giroud Francois May 7th, 2006, 04:34 PM selling overseas ? Andy Salmons May 7th, 2006, 04:51 PM Sure, shipping to Europe is a little high. But if you dont mind then i dont mind. Its gonna be right around $30 dollars or so and may take a few weeks to get there. Let me know if you have any more questions. Andy Salmons May 7th, 2006, 04:54 PM I can use a faster shipping method if you prefer, but naturally those methods are more expensive. Jon Omiatek May 7th, 2006, 07:01 PM The link www.cameracommand.com is the correct link. It goes over manual settings and how they interact with each setting. Jon Andrew Todd May 7th, 2006, 07:31 PM are you still having these issues? http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=40354 Nick Weeks May 7th, 2006, 07:37 PM Items listed on eBay, no longer for sale. Samuel Smith May 7th, 2006, 07:49 PM Hello Andrew. Yes, we did resolve the swirly issues. Here are our findings: 1). Shoot at an f-stop of 1.4 (using lenses slower than this will lead to those swirlies). This seems to work well even in lower light conditions. 2). Stay away from flat walls. (i.e. white, bare walls - brick walls and other textured walls are fine.) 3). Always test before production shoots. We would do sample tests of the lighting and setup to ensure that we would not end up with swirlies. If we got them, up the lighting or fix the background. Again most of those issues were resolved via using really fast lenses. Here's a link to the most recent piece we did with the package. http://homepage.mac.com/c.gossett/iMovieTheater7.html Andrew Todd May 7th, 2006, 07:59 PM would you be interested in selling just the xl2 body? Samuel Smith May 7th, 2006, 08:01 PM How much are you thinking for just the body? Andrew Todd May 7th, 2006, 08:07 PM They sell brand new for 2,899.95 on b&h. And sell for around $3100 with the lens on here used. so whatever you would think. Samuel Smith May 7th, 2006, 08:22 PM I discussed it with my business partner and we would like to see if someone is interested in the package before breaking the package up. But if no one is interested in the package we will sell the pieces separately. Andrew Todd May 7th, 2006, 08:23 PM let me know.. im looking to upgrade from my xl1s asap Samuel Smith May 7th, 2006, 08:28 PM We'll let you know. We should know what the water's like within the next day or so. Andrew Todd May 7th, 2006, 08:28 PM merci beaucoup.. andrew_m_todd@hotmail.com Nick Weeks May 7th, 2006, 09:06 PM I recently upgraded to a 16x manual lens, and I have no need for my original IS II. The focus ring has a very small amount of dirt/sand in it, and sometimes you can feel the grit. It does not affect fuctionality in the least, it's just the fact that you can feel it I thought it deserved a mention. Otherwise, lens is in perfect condition. Image Stabilization is flawless, and the glass is in PERFECT shape. I always used a Tiffen 72mm clear glass filter to protect the outside, and the lens was never removed while outside, so the "CCD side" is also perfect. Lens hood included. NOTE - original Canon lens cap is missing, but I have a 72mm that fits. I'm going to start at $500 + shipping, but I will take any reasonable offer. I prefer PayPal, but please add 3% to cover fees. I will make high quality pictures available to any serious buyers. Tip McPartland May 7th, 2006, 09:44 PM Dear Not-A-Jerk... That is a good question, and I certainly don't blame you for some healthy skepticism. This video is indeed currently the most popular music video download on the Web, or more precisely at least was when Dennis Madalone called me on Christmas 2005 and brought me up to date on it. Anyway, as of his call in December 2005 it had been downloaded over five million times. I would bet the number is around twice that now. If you know of any music video that has been downloaded ten million times or more, please let me know and I'll call this the "second most" henceforth. FYI, there is a hilarious VH1 piece on it that sends it up with some great content putdowns, but also DOES acknowledge its status as the most popular video on the Web. Go to the link and watch the video. Then check the VH1 link in the press section of the site for yourself. You'll see that VH1 does indeed refer to it as the most popular video on the Web. This was a project straight from the heart for the performer Dennis Madalone, who in his normal life is one of Hollywood's top stunt coordinators (currently working "Without a Trace"). He's donated every penny that's come in from it to the widows and orphans of policemen and fiiremen who died on 9-11. It was directed gratis by A-list feature director Rob Bowman whose credits include the X-Files movie and the Disney dragon pic Reign of Fire. The underlying music was produced by Paul McCartney's music producer, who showed the video to him. McCartney fell in love with it, once calling Dennis five times in one day about it, and by the way, saying he couldn't believe it was shot on video, not that he's an expert. But I was thrilled to have entertained Sir Paul for once instead of the reverse as has been true since 1963 or so! To VH1 it's corny, corny, corny, to others it's a major expression of love and hope. Judge for yourself. Tip Matthew Wauhkonen May 7th, 2006, 11:11 PM Corny, corny, corny. But the video quality wasn't bad and that's a pretty cool piece of trivia. Good luck on the sale; the image looks great. Lowell Oswald May 8th, 2006, 09:48 AM I'm looking to upgrade again.... and I'm selling my powerbook (3 1/2 months old) for $1700 OBO. It's in perfect condition (it's had a cover on the keyboard and screen) there are no scratches or dings on it. here are the specs.. 1.67GHz PowerPC G4 processor, 512MB memory (DDR2 PC2-4200 SDRAM at 333MHz), 80GB 5400rpm hard drive, Slot-load 8x SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW), ATI, 15.2-inch display, Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger it's still selling for $1,994 at macmall.com. I've got all of the original packaging and receipts for it. Derrick A.Jones May 8th, 2006, 10:41 AM Im trying to work on some independand short films and get into the Wedding's and event filming business also? Jon Omiatek May 8th, 2006, 11:51 AM SOLD. Thanks Scott. Let me know when you get it. Jon Tip McPartland May 8th, 2006, 12:01 PM Thanks. By the way, one of the more impressive things about this camera is the lattitude. In that video there are scenes where Dennis is on a large rock, full sun on one side, full shade on the other with detail intact on both sides. Of course the beach sand did make a rather large and effective bounce card though! As for selling this camera, it doesn't seem like the market is real strong right now for a 60i SD 4:3 only camera, but if anyone can work within those limitations, no unreasonable offer will be refused. I just used it for a casting tape at my job while my GY-HD100 was out on a rental. It did a wonderful job, few cameras match it's skin tones and overall color rendition. Tip |
