Eric James May 30th, 2006, 04:21 AM Hey Guys,
This system is BRAND NEW in the box. It's never been used. We originally purchased several of these machines for a render farm and this one ended up being left over. We paid over $2,500 for this machine from apple. This is a great deal for anyone looking for a new G5 system.
Here are the basic specs:
G5 dual 2.7Ghz
512MB of Ram
250 GB HDD
Superdrive
Bluetooth
Firewire 400/800
Radeon 9600 XT (256MB, Dual Link DVI + DVI)
GigE
PCI-X
and all the other standard G5 goodies.
This comes with a fresh install of Tiger and all original software. As stated it is unopened, and brand new in the box.
If your interested send me a PM or e-mail me.
Thanks,
Eric James

K. Forman May 30th, 2006, 04:55 AM Dude... It's too bad I just dumped over a grand into updating my machine. A deal like that made me consider going Mac!
Patrick Gault May 30th, 2006, 05:02 AM That is the one, Jack. The Mini Mole I am offering is in good shape but has CVD stenciled on both sides of the light and on one of the three snoots.
Bob Safay May 30th, 2006, 05:54 AM Selling my Canon 14x lens. It is a great lens, I just do not use it. It has lens caps and pouch. Will take $650.00, OBO. Bob
Ja Franklin May 30th, 2006, 08:23 AM I'm looking to add a third camera to my shoots. Does anyone have a line on a previously owned Canon GL2 package?
Peter Wiley May 30th, 2006, 09:22 AM I have a Glidecam 4000 in the box, with all parts, DVD etc. Opened and played with but never used. Current camera proved just too heavy to use.
How about $310.00? Current price at B&H is $389.95.
Bryan Roberts May 30th, 2006, 11:45 AM Works perfectly, runs Final Cut Pro 5 perfectly (thanks to the upgrades listed below), never had a single problem, only owner and a non-smoker :), whisper quiet, like-new cosmetically. I used this machine to edit both a feature film and also a feature doc. This thing has been perfect. I'm only selling because the feature I'm currently on bought me a new dual core G5 for HD work. Here are the specs...
1.42 GHz G4 Mac Mini
1 gig of ram
Upgraded the stock internal HD (4200 rpm) to fast 7200 RPM Hitachi deskstar 60 gig
Includes all original packaging, documentation, software (iLife 05' which includes iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD and GarageBand)
Comes with a never been used apple keyboard and apple mighty mouse
Combo Drive (DVD read/CD burner)
OSX 10.3.9
Stock power supply
This machine will power 24 inch monitors which is what I've been running it on practically since I first bought it (Last picture is how I had the mini setup, notice it tucked away under the left speaker shelf). It does not come with the monitor or anything else not listed above.
$600 plus you pay your preferred shipping method from Burbank, CA.
Cash or Check
Thanks!

Paul Reichelt May 30th, 2006, 01:07 PM Looking to purchase lightly used (under 200 Hours) DVX100A or DVX100B in good working order (IE: No known problems).
I'd prefer to pay via Check, but Paypal is an option as well.
My price range is somewhat flexible, but not willing to budge above $2,500 for the Video Camera. Expecting to pay between $1,800 and $2,000 for a Used DVX100A and about $2,200 to $2,500 for a Used DVX100B
PM or Post Here if you've got a Camera and want to discuss a possible sale. I'll have purchased the new Camera within the next 2-weeks so contact me ASAP if interested.
:)
K. Forman May 30th, 2006, 01:11 PM Do the monitors come with it?
K. Forman May 30th, 2006, 01:14 PM Excellent deal... too bad I'm going with JVC this time around.
Bryan Roberts May 30th, 2006, 01:15 PM No, sorry. The monitors are worth more than the computer price of $600. I'll make it clearer in the post.
K. Forman May 30th, 2006, 01:19 PM Sorry, I thought you were talking about video monitors, not the audio kind. Does it have a monitor at all, or would I need to find one?
Bob Safay May 30th, 2006, 01:20 PM Matt, I have a Panasonic dv-2000, $1,100.00 This has the shuttle, removable control panel, instruction book, three pro tapes, remote. Bob RSafay@aol.com
Boyd Ostroff May 30th, 2006, 01:23 PM Software left installed (other than stock included software):
Final Cut 5 Studio, Photoshop CS, MS Office, 2 Garageband jam packs.
Hi Bryan. If you're no longer using that software and intend to transfer the license to the buyer then this is certainly a great deal. But otherwise any software which you still plan to use on another machine should be removed from the Mini before the sale, as your license requires. Sorry to be picky, but DVinfo can't get involved with the sale of unlicensed software.
Bryan Roberts May 30th, 2006, 01:33 PM Ah - well it doesn't come with Audio or Video monitors. Just the list of items. It DOES have as you notice, a never been used Apple mighty mouse and keyboard which no mac mini comes with. You WILL need speakers and a video monitor though just like normal mac mini purchases. The final pic was just for illustrative purposes of what this thing can do or be setup with :) .
Boyd - if I purchased the upgrade for my previous 5.0 version which was on the mac mini to 5.1 for the dual core g5, does that make leaving 5.0 on the mini legit? Thanks for alerting me to the problem -
Matthew Nayman May 30th, 2006, 01:37 PM Ooo, I am very interested
Greg Boston May 30th, 2006, 01:38 PM if I purchased the upgrade for my previous 5.0 version which was on the mac mini to 5.1 for the dual core g5, does that make leaving 5.0 on the mini legit? Thanks for alerting me to the problem -
No, it does not. You have to stop using the software because the 'upgrade' is just that, not a completely separate copy of the software.
Or, the correct thing to do is remove the software and put the machine in a stock configuration for sale if you intend to use 5.1 on your new machine. I don't mean to answer for Boyd but this has to be clarified ASAP so Chris can't get into legal trouble for the reasons Boyd mentioned.

Bryan Roberts May 30th, 2006, 01:45 PM Ah very good then. Definitely don't want to cause problems for one of my favorite boards. Then I'll modify the post to reflect the changes....
Thanks guys.
Boyd Ostroff May 30th, 2006, 02:07 PM See Apple's FCS license here: http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/finalcutstudio51.pdf
Updates: If an Apple Software update completely replaces (full install) a previously licensed version of the Apple Software, you may not use both versions of the Apple Software at the same time nor may you transfer them separately.
I'm sure you will find this to be true of other software products as well...
Greg Boston May 30th, 2006, 02:26 PM Ah very good then. Definitely don't want to cause problems for one of my favorite boards. Then I'll modify the post to reflect the changes....
Thanks guys.
And thank you Bryan for being so honest. It helps everyone.

Nick Weeks May 30th, 2006, 02:56 PM Out of curiosity, which camera are you using?
Peter Wiley May 30th, 2006, 04:09 PM XL2. Found it difficult to balance and I am not strong enough to make it work well.
In any case the Glidecam is now sold. Thanks to all who replyed for your interest.
Mike Teutsch May 30th, 2006, 06:15 PM I can't understand the shoulder support, what does it do. Sorry for the ignorance!
Mike
Henry Cho May 30th, 2006, 06:47 PM hey mike.
the shoulder support will make a hand-held setup a little easier to lug around.
i'm going to take pics of the rig tonight for a prospective buyer, but i think this picture should clarify things...

Josh Bass May 31st, 2006, 02:24 AM Hello, all. I am attempting to sell my XL1s, to join the "slightly better SD revolution"--to get an XL2.
So here's the deal--
I got this camera around the beginning of 2002. It's got, to the best of my estimation, between 150-200 hours on it. In 2004, I took it in to Professional Audio and Video Service, in Houston, to have it looked at, cause I noticed it was not always reading timecode off tapes, when used as a deck (yes, I'm sorry, I used to do that, have not done it since then). It had some repairs done, specifically --they replaced the pinch roller, supply reel, tension assembly brake, tension arm assembly. They also adjusted tape tension, cleaned tape paths, and performed functional check.
Since this time, I have not used it as a deck, and I've maybe used it for five minutes total, for field playback. It mostly lives in its Kata bag, or sits on a tripod in my room.
The stock lens is flawless, and has mostly sat on a shelf, as I use the manual lens almost exclusively. There are a few dings around the handle area, just regular wear and tear. Other than that, it looks pretty nice. I had a small piece of velcro glued to the bottom, right near the screw holes for tripod plates, for a handheld rig I used to use sometimes.
The biggest flaw on this camera is on the body, where the viewfinder attaches. I don't know how this happened, but two little "pins" that keep the "wheel" on the body attached are broken. This doesn't affect anything, so far as I know, because there are four screws that do the same job. I took that piece apart several times to attach rubber grommets, to make it less likely to come loose. I'm assuming the pins snapped during one of those occasions. It's probably something you'd never notice unless you took that piece apart yourself, and that part of the body is not at all loose or anything.
I have the manual, and lens literature, as well as all the accessories that orginally came with the camera. I'm throwing a system isolator (which moves the viewfinder assembly forward about two inches, to keep camera noise from picking up on the onboard mic, and also, makes it better balanced for handheld work, which is the reason I got it) , to make it a little sweeter (I know, it ain't much).
So, there you have it. I have a certain price I'm aiming for, and I'd rather just take offers via email, and see what people are willing to pay. If I don't get what I'm lookin for, it'll go up on ebay. If I still don't get what I'm lookin for, I'll come slinking back here like a dirty schmuck, and try again.
I'm going to leave this up for a week before it goes to ebay.
Houston members, if you're interested, we can meet somewhere and you can inspect it in person.

CHRIS: I have images I'd attach if the forum'd let me. I read the other thread about image attachment, and I seem to be missing something. I've been here forever, and I'm signed in, and I still don't see it.
Elliot Press May 31st, 2006, 03:04 AM No, you tell us what you're roughly looking to get first ;)
Chris Hurd May 31st, 2006, 06:43 AM Josh, you should be seeing a "Manage Attachments" button in the Additional Options area of any new post page... directly below the new post text input field. Ya dig?
Josh Bass May 31st, 2006, 07:24 AM I don't see it, sir.
Matthew Nayman May 31st, 2006, 07:57 AM Anyone else? Really hoping to find someone in Toronto...
Josh Bass May 31st, 2006, 08:18 AM Ok, kids, until the attachment issue's resolved, we can view the images from my website.
So, here you go.
Plain old side views of the Xl1s:
http://www.joshbass.com/xl1sleft.jpg
http://www.joshbass.com/xl1sright.jpg
The bottom where the velcro was attached:
http://www.joshbass.com/xl1sbottom.jpg
And the viewfinder attachment, on the camrea body, showing the broken pins (the are the two white/silver circles on the right hand part of the picture). You are looking at the area where the "wheel" is normally attached to the body, with the camera's front facing you. I took that piece apart to show the breakage. If it were it intact, you wouldn't be able to see see that part of the camera, 'cause those pins hold the wheel and the piece of plastic/metal it spins around, when the screws are all removed. Now, when screws are removed, it just pops off.
http://www.joshbass.com/xl1sviewfinder.jpg
I'd just to like to add that I am not willing to break it up (sell body only).
Patrick Gault May 31st, 2006, 01:15 PM disregard this message...sorry
Bob Safay May 31st, 2006, 03:32 PM Matt, let me know if you want me to send you pictures. Also, this is the one with the IR editing controller.

Matthew Nayman May 31st, 2006, 06:32 PM Dino, I have heard terrible things about that deck, like constant audio drop-outs, bad firewire and Canon incompatability. Also, new it's only $1100.
Matthew Nayman May 31st, 2006, 06:34 PM Sorry, that was harsh! Thanks for offering though!

Tyge Floyd May 31st, 2006, 09:38 PM I have a VariZoom Stealth Lens Controller that will work on just about all Sony and Canon camcorders with a LANC input. It's brand new, has been mounted on my tripod but never used in the field. The reason I'm selling it is because it will not control the focus on the new lens for the Canon XL2 or XLH1, zooms only and I need it to control focus as well. Of coarse, I didn't know this when I bought it. Works great on my XL1s, XL1, GL2 and a lot of others but not the XL2 or XLH1!
Here's a link to the VariZoom web site for details of this item:
http://www.varizoom.com/products/controls/vzstealth.html
I paid $189 plus shipping last month from DVinfo.net site sponsor B & H Photo, I'll take $170 to your door. (Can take PayPal payments.)
Bigo Hoggins June 1st, 2006, 04:59 AM Im in Natomas I'll pick it up if its not the compact ....
Dino Santoro June 1st, 2006, 05:08 AM Sorry, that was harsh! Thanks for offering though!
No problems Matthew. I'm open to offers if you change your mind. Good luck!
Marty Hudzik June 1st, 2006, 10:41 AM David,
I sent you an email.

Jim Karrels June 1st, 2006, 02:05 PM I am selling my MacBook Pro 2.0GHz, 1GB RAM (1 stick), 100GB HD (5400rpm), 256MB Video card.... like new in box. No scratches, marks, etc. Mint/new condition. I bought two of these, but only need one. It has seen very little use and is virutally indistinguishable from new.
Same configuration on Apple.com retails for $2299+sales tax = ~$2,400. (don't forget mine has extra RAM (only 1 stick so you can easily add another GB for 2GB total) and a larger, faster hard drive than base $1999 configuration). I would be willing to sell for an even $2k + shipping + PP.
I've bought and sold lots of stuff here as well as on FredMiranda.com (35mm -- I am Jake_SF).
thanks,
--Jim
