HDV/SD downcovert doesn't work?
recorded some HDV footage. Go to VCR/play position, select "signal setup" and HD down-conv is grayed out. I'm trying to play out via the firewire port to my DV deck/edit sys. Tried powering down then up, no luck.
Anyone have a clue? |

answered my own question
The firewire cable has to be DISCONNECTED from the camera in order to select the HD downconvert setting.

same action tried few minutes ago...
yes, disconnecting the firewire cable puts the gray one option, in a selectable state.
In addition I can say that I down-converted a 25F footage (I work with the PAL version), using a DV PAL Anamorphic set up in FCP and it was perfect! |

anyone using Premeir Pro 2.0 or After Effects 7.0 have a good workflow to take HDV and downconvert into a 4:3 file for eventual dub to Beta SP for TV submission?
