Date and time burn in?

OK guys I have 1 day to buy the XH-A1 before the $250 rebate is gone. So I have 2 final questions: Can the XH burn in the time and date onto the tape (for legal video) and is the tape side loaded so i don't have to take it off of the tripod? I'm ready to pull the trigger on this cam, help a brotha out...lol
thanks Tony Coleman

Yes you can display the date/time, its on page 26 of the manual. (although in some legal circles because it is user set, that can be questioned) The tape is side loaded so you do NOT have to remove it from the tripod to reload. Pull the trigger!

Burn-in is a different thing than display, but yes it's capable of that.

Surprisingly, the manual isn't half bad.

Well i pulled the trigger on the XH last night. funny B and H suddenly went out of stock right before the rebate ended, probably everyone waiting till the last minute like myself.

So now it looks like I need to get the needed accessories. First i'm gonna need some kind of filter, any suggestions? I need something for shooting at the beach, and also for indoors. Also, I know this is in hundreds of threads, but I need a good tape brand. Does panny still make an 83 minute master series tape? Would be perfect for long depositions.

I'm also going to need a case, guess the pelican 1510 is pretty popular. Also how often should I clean the heads and what is a good head cleaning tape?

Thanks for the replies, I'm truly a NOOB and you guys are the best! Tony Coleman

Well I figured out how to burn in character's on the tape, only problem is I need only the time and date, and it seems that everything that shows up in the viewfinder (applications/settings) are also burning to tape. I know you can customize what displays, but is it possible to clear everything except time and date?

Here is the image I am getting:

Yes it is -- just use the Custom Display menu. Be sure to see my earlier posts about Custom Display (search my name in this forum for Custom Display) as some folks tend to get confused on how to activate the Custom Display feature once it's been set up the way you want it.
