Final Share/economical shared storage
Has anyone implemented anything like this shared storage solution that runs on ethernet?
Maxx Digital It has been recommended as a much less expensive alternative to a $60K+ XSAN and I'd like to find out about trade-offs/hidden costs, especially from someone who's tried it or something similar.

Hi Benjamin
Reports are very positive. You should read Walter Biscardi's article which covers in great detail his experience of converting his post house to use a Final Share SAN: Shared Media Storage Without Breaking the Bank : SAN - Storage Area Networks Best Andy |

Thanks Andy- I did see the article, and it is pretty encouraging. Have you tried something like this?

No, not personally Ben.. but its exactly what I would use if I were trying to put together a good SAN on a budget (and who isn't on a budget these days?)
