burner problem in g5 dual 2ghz at DVinfo.net

My G5 burner seems to work on some discs and not others, even from the same brand fro the same batch.

I sent it in when it was under warranty and i think they upgraded the firmware.

Its a sony dvd rw dw qw28a with KAS7 firmware.

Has anyone else had any probs, where can i update /downgrade the firware/
If i need another drive what can i get?

I seemed to have a lot of trouble burning on my G5 also, but then I tried using Roxio toast to burn disc images and that has worked 100% of the time since then.
