SmoothCam in FCS 2

How effective is SmoothCam in Final Cut Studio 2 for correcting gitter and the typical bumps of handheld use?

I'm hoping to use this technology to create a steadicam look with my A1 and a MultiRig.

Ben,

Someone will surely be able to give you advice in about 3-4 weeks once the final version of the software actually starts shippping.

I believe it's scheduled to ship "on or before May 31"

Thank you.

Bill,

In my over-zealous curiousity, I neglected to check the release date. Many thanks for your response!

Your Friend,
Ben

If it's the same stuff from shake, it'll be fabulous.

The smoothcam technology has been pulled from shake and put directly into FCP. It uses shakes optical flow processing. As an owner of shake, and having used the smoothcam node in shake, I can say that the quality is very good. Check out the smoothcam quick tour on Apples website ....
