even playing 1080 24p files?

I recently digitized some 1080 24p footage I shot with the Canon XL-H1
using the latest FCP update.
They are the captured Qt files and play nicely
though they push the limit of my older g4 Powerbook (133Gz) they still PLAY.

But...

Then I gave the footage (in QT) to an editor who has a G4 167Gz Powerbook it has an Ati Radeon 6700(?) and he cant even Play the 1080 24p Quicktimes I have given him?
WTF?
They play on my older G4133Gz Pbook with a lesser Ati card
Is it a QT Pro Issue?
Weird.
the QTplayer takes you to a website with useless(for this, it seems) plugins

Also without the latest FCPro it doesn't seem he'll even be able to edit the 24f footage. Is this true or is it restricted to capture..

Thanks,
John

I am cross posting this on the XL-H1 forum where I have had no luck
