Powering the DR-HD100

I just bought a DR-HD100 for $995 off of EBAY. It was a "B-Stock" mint condition HDD that was used to demo at NAB 2006 and then was repackaged by JVC. I thought it was a good deal...I should have it by Friday.

Anyway...I have the Anton Bauer Battery Setup...What cable do I need to have the battery power the Firestore drive?

Steve,

I'm very interested in this as well.

When I bought the camera attachment package from Focus Enhancements I thought it would include a cable of some kind but it didn't.

I currently power mine only with the on board battery.

Please let me know if you find anything else that works.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Webb,

Will that cable work with an IDX system?

Thanks,

Webb how exactly does that work? Please be more specific. I have DR-HD100 and Anton Bauer batteries. How can I power both the camera and the DTE recorder with the same battery? Is this PowerTap cable the solution? How is it connected? I'd appreciate your help. Thank you.

Jaadgy, the cable runs from the DR-HD100 to to little connector on top of the A/B mount. There is a small 2-pin slot/connector called a power-tap on all A/B mounts that can be used to power anything needing 12v. This same Powertape can be used to power on-camera lighting, or an on-camera external HD monitor. Very handy.

Tom, I've never used IDX so I don't know what kind of connector it has. If IDX uses the same shape/style plug as A/B then it would be compatable. Can someone who uses IDX confirm?

Here is a picture of an accessory power cord plugged into the IDX mount:

Here is a post (the second one in the thread) that says an AB power tap cable works on an IDX mount:
