The Placer chipset based motherboards are supposed to be announced on the 18th I believe and I have already begun to see pictures of these dual Xeon, DDR, 8X AGP, SCSI (some of them at least), Gigabit LAN boards. Keep an eye out as these will probably be the systems to build on for some serious work (fun).

Although Abit is not necessarily known for stability here is a link to just one of the boards:

Boards from Tyan, Supermicro - very stable boards these two - Iwill, and others are also set for release soon. 12GB memory support on that Abit!! 533MHz FSB Xeon support and so on; should make for a great Christmas for some of us.

And to think I have to drop money for tuition again soon, *sigh*
