Hi Chris, Money and gear have changed hands several weeks ago, I went through the trouble of sending out for him the very next day after receiving payment. He has my phone number and address. told him in advance what the cost was and that we would split it, he agreed, so I flipped for the total amount.

Mike

Chris Hurd December 3rd, 2006 07:22 PM

Hmm. Sorry to hear that. I've split shipping charges myself, but have been careful to include that amount in the initial deal so that there's only one money exchange involved. How much are we talking about here?

Michael Stewart December 3rd, 2006 07:44 PM

$35, when I have contact with the buyer and feel comfortable with them, I usually do it, I know what it is like to wait on something so I try to ship as soon as possible, this is the first time I have had any gltches, hopefully it is just a glitch and he will contact me. I will keep you posted, he seemed like a nice enough guy, he did send a postal moneyorder, so he did trust me. The reason it was not in the original money, was it happened so quick, I had to contact him (John) from the post office, because they were closing in a matter of mintues, the delivery driver waited just so I could finish up the package postage.

FS: Canon EF Adapter XL

I have an official Canon EF Adapter XL for attaching EOS lenses to your XL1, XL1s, XL2 or XLH1. EXCELLENT condition, pouch and both lens caps included. I might be able to find the original box as well. First $300 shipped via paypal gets it. Retail is over $600. Cheapest shipped price on the net for a new one is over $425 and used ones on ebay go for $350+ so this is a great deal.

Well the Firestore is back up for sale. The first buyer bought it without realizing that it is not a PAL unit (I should have thought about that also before I shipped it to the UK). Anyway, he is sending it back to me so it will be up for sale again. When I receive it back I will examine and test it to ensure that the condition of the unit has not changed and post my findings. If you have any questions please let me know.

Any warranty?

Chris Hurd December 5th, 2006 01:41 AM

$300? Geez, you're practically giving it away. It's not often that these things come up for sale. Your price is most generous. Somebody needs to jump on this a.s.a.p.

Ash Greyson December 5th, 2006 01:52 AM

I got a great deal on it but never use it any more. They are indeed rather rare in the used marketplace. You only see one a month or so pop up on eBay.

Jared Teter December 5th, 2006 01:00 PM

Thanks Phillip, I apologize for the inconvienence.

Ash Greyson December 5th, 2006 01:10 PM

I need some storage for a new product but I am still shy about Lacie, how has this drive performed? Internet reviews are not kind, I think the problem is the bridge.

You probably arent aware but they have dropped the price on these considerably, the brand new 2TB version is $890 at Secure Mart. Would you take $600 shipped? That is taking 80% of $890, then taking 20% of for being used.

Jeff Mack December 5th, 2006 01:18 PM

Ah, I should have checked first. You are right! It has come down dramatically. I guess I will withdraw the offer. Sorry, I guess I'm upside down and I will find another use for it.

BTW, it has performed great for me. Never had a problem other than noise and that is only due to a vibration. I rub it and it goes away. Kind of like a genie's lamp. Sorry for the problem.

WTB : bogen tripod and fluid head 501

I am looking for a Bogen/Manfrotto tripod head.

I am also really surprised to see the Bogen 501 heads going on ebay (used) for over $140.00 USD. I can get them at Henry's in Canada for $150.00 new. So, in other words, I am not willing to pay for more then I can get brand new.

Waldemar Winkler December 5th, 2006 07:40 PM

Most e-bay sellers want far more than their products are really worth. That is why I rarely make e-bay purchases. May I suggest you do a search with wider parameters. Do a "Bogen" search without restrictions to category. Yes, it takes a long time to sift through the garbage, but there may well be a diamond in the rough. While searching for replacement parts for my still camera tripod I took a long shot with more general search parameters and found a brand new tripod for 1/4 the avg. asking price. The difference? Although identical to the model I was seeking, this particular item had been made for Asian distribution, and therefore had a different model number. I beat the nerds at their own game.

Ash Greyson December 5th, 2006 08:39 PM

That is the thing about storage, it often makes more sense to keep it than try to sell it at a dramatic loss.
