I may be interested, but I'm also naive about the functionality of the mixer. Is it possible to hook the mixer up to a computer/NLE to use it for post production audio mixing? I skimmed through the specs on a site that was selling it and saw no obvious port for connection to a computer. Please let me know...

Mixer Question
 

If you're talking about being able to externally control software, this mixer doesn't have firewire built-in. It might be able to be used as a control surface if you have some sort of midi card installed. Not sure about that, though; you'd have to check with the manufacturer of the mixer and the midi card to make sure. Here's a link to the Mackie site:

Aside from that, though, some people use mixers in the edit suite to more easily patch in and out from speakers, decks, etc. I think you could certainly use this mixer for that purpose if you have something like a Blackmagic or Aja card installed.

We used the mixer on set for monitoring and riding volume levels. Also, another advantage is that there are built-in limiters on the sound, so you might get some added warmth, and ultimately I think we got very good sound on our production.

I use the XLR line out through a couple of adapters to get it to a mini plug to record directly through my field mixer to my laptop...entirely possible with a $20 adapter.

The Mackie 1202 VLZ Pro is a fine little analog mixer. That's all it does. There is no possibility of using it as a control surface, nor does it have built in limiting (but it does have some channel inserts that can be used with an external compressor/limiter).

There is one sitting on my editing desk right now, and it does fine for routing analog signal, lets me listen to various sources (DV deck, CD player, etc.), lets me use a mic, or a mic needing phantom for occassional narration, and gives me volume control on the studio monitors.

It would be used in this kind of setup with a sound card on the computer to handle the analog-digital and digital-analog tasks.

It also makes a fine mixer for general use wherever you have AC power available.

Hello all I'm selling three items. My newly purchased Canon XH-A1, "like new" Libec TH-M20 tripod, and complete licensed version of Final Cut Express HD 3.5.

On June 14, 2007 I purchased a Canon XH-A1 from B&H Photovideo. I absolutely love the camcorder but I have college financial issues that were not foreseen and I have to part with it. I've shot about 10 minutes of SD video to a premium Sony HDV tape. Thats it. All together I am selling my Canon XH-A1, 4 Sony DVM-63HD tapes in manufactures wrapping, and a Hoya 72mm Haze UV(0) (S-HMC) Super Multi-Coated Glass Filter. I would like $ 3,100 which includes the 3% paypal fee. Buyer pays for shipping. Includes all original accessories, in the original Canon box.

new technology really devalues the used stuff in this category.

It's not that your price is unfair, or greedy. It's just that it can't compete with newer alternatives.

Daniel, you couldnt have said it any better. It is very unfortunate that the market does not support the asking price. A friend of mine bought the same set up but with 2 apple 20 inch monitors and a shuttle pro mouse for 1900 on ebay. it also include fcs. its a dmm shame but what can we do about it! I was considering it as well until I found a similar deal.

DVX100a for sale
 

DVX100a in excellent condition. 167 hours on heads. No problems, no nicks on body, lens is clean. Comes with charger, 5 batteries (all high-capacity), in original box with various accessories (strap, remote etc).

Camera used by professional cameraman and well-maintained. Never a single problem with this unit. Selling because I've moved on to HD.
