Barry - just make sure you get the correct version for Ireland - these units come in different flavours for different countries' frequencies - and they can't be retuned by the user to the "correct" frequencies - it's a factory return job for a new RF board (and $$$$, or EEEE, in your case). You wouldn't want to be picking up mobile phones and taxi companies?? :D

(Sorry if I'm teaching my grandmother here!)

Wanted:Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG EX Macro (Nikon)

I'm looking for a sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG EX Macro for NIKON. I've just missed a couple of good offers (around 200$). Needless to say the lens must be in good working condition (the optics must be intact with no scratches, no moist, just perfect). I do business with paypal exclusively. E-mail me if you have it for sale.

FS: Kessler 8-ft crane

I purchased this crane from Kessler roughly 3 years ago. It is the 8 foot crane which breaks down into two 4-foot sections. I've used it a handful of times but most of the work I do now does not call for it. It's been sitting in storage for the past year just collecting dust. It has some scuffs and scratches from normal use - a few of the logo letters have rubbed off. For the price, Kessler makes the best crane on the market IMO. It has a very solid build and smooth operation while still being lightweight and easy to transport and setup. When I bought it I paid extra for the black finish and ball bearing upgrades.

Asking $325.

Please email me with any questions. I have a Bogen 3066 heavy duty tripod/head combo for sale in another other posting here. It is a perfect mate for this crane. Thanks for looking!

Sincerely,
Dave Uriarte

Hi David :)

First question's first.....which 'WA' are you based in?

I know it's a wild chance that it's Western Australia but Puyallup sounds kind of Australian :p

If so, I have a few questions about the tripod in particular (ie - will it hold my setup....Canon XL2 + M2 lens adaptor etc....)

I'm looking at shelling out 1200 wing wangs for a new tripod so I am VERY interested.

I'll send you an e-mail with this message as well.........determined to reach you before you post them on E bay!

Patrick Moreau July 31st, 2007 07:41 AM

Sent you back an email Dave. I'm interested in the whole setup.

An additional item for sale...

Ladies and Gents,
I also have a Bogen 3156 autodolly available that is a perfect compliment to the crane/tripod setup. Here's why: when you have the crane and tripod setup, and the camera and counterbalance weights installed, the entire rig is pretty heavy. If you need to move it to recompose your shot or change locations it's a two man job to manhandle the tripod and crane. Don't try it on your own or you could risk toppling it over, damaging equipment and/or people!

Want an easier solution?

Enter the dolly. It has a single lever locking mechanism making it extremely easy to go from rolling mode to locked down. It is very sturdy when locked down, especially with the weight of the loaded rig bearing down on it. It basically acts as a ground spreader, providing ultimate stability for the tripod.

Pics of actual item here:
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...y3156-full.jpg
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ndolly3156.jpg

B&H link here.

Note - mine is the aluminum finish, not the black like in the B&H link.

Asking $125.

Total "package" price, not including shipping, packaging, or Paypal fees: $825 ($325 crane, $375 tripod, $125 dolly). Local pickup welcome (Tacoma/Puyallup area).

Thanks again!

Dave

Dave Uriarte July 31st, 2007 10:18 AM

Howdy Jon!

Thanks for the message. I'm in the US - Washington State.

The 3066 head handles loads up to 22 pounds. I've used it with a fully loaded DV5100 as you can see in the pics, as well as a crane. It is solid. The tripod and legs weigh in at 26 pounds so I wouldn't take it on any hiking expeditions unless you're superman ;)

Click Here for a PDF with specs on the 3066.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Take care,
Dave

Jon Palmer August 1st, 2007 08:17 AM

Hey mate...

Well damn about the Washington bit (more on that later) :p

However, hoorah about the tripod. My main concern is that the tripod wouldn't be able to hold something as front heavy as the XL2 and Redrock M2 adaptor (the XL2 is front heavy as it is) but it certainly looks up to it.

So we come to the next part...if I paid for the shipping, would it be possible to get the tripod shipped over here to Australia? That's why I was wondering where you were based, hehe.

Cheers mate -Jon

P.S And being somewhat a noob at tripods, I'm going to ask - does it come with a tripod plate that will attatch the Xl2 to the head?

Dave Uriarte August 1st, 2007 08:46 AM

Shipping to Australia could get a wee spendy for ya, but I can definitely look into it. However, the tripod may already be sold at this point as I'm just waiting to hear back from another member. If he decides to purchase I'll update the posting indicating it has been sold.

And yes, the tripod plate has a thumbscrew for attaching your cam. I believe it's a 1/4" screw.

Thanks!
