People who use these mics a lot can confirm, if the receiver is mounted vertically, the reception clarity and distance get drastically better. This mount allows 2 receivers to be held upright on a hotshoe. I used it for 6 months, I can attest - I never had a single dropout or hit, even in NYC. When used with the stock horizontal mount, I used to get dropouts all the time, using the exact same channels. I have a picture of everything layed out...not a great shot but it gives an idea.

If you get a chance to post a picture of the mount, it might be of general interest. Good luck with your sale, lots of good stuff.

Just to clarify as well - this is the compact camera/belt mount receiver, not the rack-mount receiver.

The installation instructions link on the GL1/GL2 adaptor shows the bayonet mount instructions. Is that model a thread on adaptor? do you have a 72mm thread on model to fit my XL1s? Cause that would be cool.

The instructions were likely mixed up. We made this adapter for several cameras including the GL series as well as the Sony bayonet mount. The item on sale is the Sony bayonet mount.

Unfortunately, we never made an anamorphic adapter for the XL series cameras. I assume it was due to cost issues as the adapter would likely weigh 2 or 3 pounds and cost over $1500.

FS in US: Sony HVR V1U w/Pelican case and long life battery

Hey everyone,

I actually listed this about two months ago, but after a few conversations, nothing really happened. I hope it's okay to re-list it (I couldn't find any prohibition against doing so). Anyway, I've lowered the price.

The camera is a Sony HVR V1U. Mint condition. Hardly any recording has been done. Hours of use are:

Operation 4x10hrs
Drum Run 2x10 hrs
Tape run 1X10 hrs
Threading 4x10 hrs

Includes a Pelican 1550 waterproof/crushproof hard shell case and a long life Lenmar battery & speed recharger, as well as the standard cables. $3050.

Let me know if you're interested!

Just a quick note that link for the $99 upgrade is out of stock. I'm not sure how B&H is offering the upgrade price lower than Sony, but hey... go for the deal!

receiver

lowell,
it is just the receiver. I had a 500 receiver and transmitter cube, and the lav transmitter, then I couldnt get it to work with my original receiver. after purchasing the transmitter seperately, I found out my problem was initally in the way I was setting the frequency, so it now works great. I paid a lot for this receiver buying it as a seperate unit, and I dont really have a use for it any more.
hope this helps.
