4 input live video mixer (any brand)

I've been looking for a 4 input live video mixer for an upcoming charity (aka I'm not getting paid beans) gig. Essentially what I am getting paid will go entirely towards buying the mixer. I already have the multiple cameras needed.

I've read a bunch about Videonics, and have heard that many people are not fans of them. I've love to have a Datalogic, but I seriously doubt I can swing the price of one of those. I also have read a bit about the Panasonic WJ-MC50 (though it looks like a fossil!).

But if it works I will be interested in it. It is also safe to assume I cannot afford anything that can switch HD. I'm still in the SD world and probably only analog sources too.

I'd like to keep the price below $700 if possible (since that is far more than what i am getting paid for the gig). But if it is a great mixer I could probably toss in 1/2 of Decembers mortgage payment (am I kidding?...... I'm not sure).

Sony VCL-HG0872 72mm 0.8x Hi-Grade Wide Lens

Once again, my Sony VCL-HG0872 72mm 0.8x Hi-Grade Wide Lens is for sale. I had listed it once several years ago on this forum when a client requested it for a shoot, thus justifying and securing its place in my collection. Now, it's been over a year since I've used it and I'd rather have a different toy. I'm willing to part with it for $300 / OBO (I bought it for $420 or so, it retails for $370-400 now, I believe). The lens is in very good condition. It's been used once and has no damage on the actual glass. There is however, a very small, entirely cosmetic scratch on the front lens cover.

Thanks for looking.

David Clark October 6th, 2008 08:46 PM

Jason, I do have one of those Videonics MX-1 switchers. It is in very good cosmetic condition, but every once and a while (like you have probably heard), it resets itself and turns back on. If I had to say how often that happens, I can't. It can and has gone days without a problem. It's sitting here waiting to be used. $375.00?

And for another $100.00 A very good condition Videonics Titlemaker 2000. For those title inserts you'll be needing. Good luck.

Could be because AVID is no longer THE defacto editing software out there.

I have 2 AVID media composers and 1 Media 100 setting in my attic.

Matthew Nayman October 7th, 2008 06:47 AM

Shhh... you're underselling my product :P

In all honesty, i am willing to let it go pretty cheap. Just fishing around to see what people are willing to pay. Starting with the bar high!

Christopher Witz October 7th, 2008 08:25 AM

Two channel UHF wireless lapel system (not 700Mhz)

(Not going to make the same mistake I did with video mixers.... I'm asking here first before I bid online).

I have decided to once and for all (hah!) try to solve my live event audio issues. I've detailed my woes in many places so if you feel like pointing and laughing, hit up the search. :-)

I am not tied to a particular brand. All I am looking for is a clean sounding, two channel, camera mounted(1), lavaliere system. My primary camera has a Beachtek DXA-8 so I can still use my cam mounted AT897 and can take a combined Mono XLR in or combined 1/8" in from whatever wireless audio device I use.

Obviously this will not be only used for weddings, because it is much cheaper to use portable recorders and lav mics where I could syn in post production. I'm looking at a bit wider of an intended use and need to be able to keep my options open.

(1) I realize that it probably is cheaper to get AC powered two channel systems and "make due" for weddings, and to some extent I can see the point. I'm not entirely 100% positive that I have to have a completely battery powered 2chan lav system. Ceremonies usually are in a fixed location and I rarely am more than 100ft from power (I have lots of extension cords). If any wedding videographers that also do commercials and other live events can convince me to skip the battery powered option, I just might.

Used AB Dionic 90 (1 or 2) + charger

Don't want to worry about switching those pesky little batts on my JVC HD100 during a wedding ceremony anymore. Looking for batteries and charger used but in good working condition, and I suppose a connector plate if anyone has one for my camera that they're looking to offload.

Thanks for looking!

Nikon niko 28mm f2.8 lens for sale

I have a like new f 2.8 AF D lens( also manual), whuich I bought only two months ago from Cametta. The lens was a new/ refurb, and works perfectly. I bought it to use mith my new Letus Extreme and Canon H1. I bought another collection of lenses , and really don't need it. ( I have a 24, 35, 50, 85, 105 and 135mm).
I shot some footage with it and it looks great. The lens looks brand new, although I can't find the box. It also takes great pics on my D 200.
I paid $270 for it, and will sell it for $195, including free shipping in the continental USA.
Email me (or call) if you are interested.
