@Don,

I used a 32GB Transcend card... until it failed. Trust me, you don't want that much data in one place until the cards are as safe as SxS cards. Best to go 16gb, or in my case 8gb. You can...

So David, you use autofocus normally, and you don't like how the T2i does it, is that correct? Not sure if it's the T2i's "fault" per se -- these are photography cameras and lenses with autofocus...

Hi Jose,

Yep. That's the Z-Finder. Without it, it can be nearly impossible to get reliable focus if you're going with a shoulder mount or anything where an external monitor is too cumbersome (or...

Wait, if he's doing music videos, why does he need audio gear at all? The T2i should be perfect for music vids since he's just gonna sync it to the song for audio in post.

Grab the T2i, a couple...

I had a Transcend 32GB fail on me, so that was pretty terrible. I agree with Aaron -- no bigger than 16GB, and I've even stepped down to 8GB Sandisks now. Since you have to stop recording every 12...

As Bryan said, you will probably overheat eventually. Even with the battery grip I've gotten the warning in 80+ degree shooting conditions. But it took about 2 hours for that to happen, and even...

Thanks Jon! I feel like the Zoom H4n might be my first whoopsie in the DSLR revolution. Everyone refers to it as the go-to choice, but I dislike the hiss and will definitely look to try a Tascam...

Whenever I use my T2i with an EX1, I only wind up keeping the audio from the EX1. It's nice to have the safety of the EX1 image just in case, and I would never use the T2i in run-and-gun situations...

I second the question -- has anyone used the new JuicedLink DT454 yet? Would love to know how people feel about it. The Zoom H4n has a little too much hiss for me...

Couldn't agree more. Been using it on the T2i (even for stills!) and it's just the best. Plus, their customer service is elite.

Thanks for the feedback, y'all. The lens really is the star of the piece.

I've left the profile, contrast, sharpness, etc. at the default out-of-the-box settings thus far. I know people tend...

My first official T2i vid

Hey all,

Shot this for work on my personal T2i. I was shooting with it using the EX1 as the A-cam, but all I wound up keeping from the EX1 was the audio. ;) Used the Canon 50mm f1.4 lens for all...

What are you doing as far as audio (if you need it)? I am heading to Peru for 4 days and am taking my EX1 instead of the T2i for one reason: sound.

Basically, I'm not yet fully...

Right. Prize for filmmaking. Isn't that why people are interested in DSLRs? It's obviously not for 1080p run-n-gun news shoots, right?

Actually, I was very clear about what I was saying: if you call the T2i an 800 dollar toy, which you did, it is hard to take you seriously in the sense of being an objective observer. The data and...

Alister is funny. On one hand, here and on his blog he professes not to be anti-Canon. But then he tosses out broad insults like calling the T2i an 800 dollar toy. It's difficult to take you...
