Re: Bye Bye Canon XC10

You know I thought this was the ideal camera to add to our production kit..a pair in fact.
But the "VF" that isn't, the slow variable zoom just kill a great "almost" there concept.

I actually...

I got this with my 5D and it's in great condition, no marks or wear, functions perfectly.
Comes with original box, hood and a LCW 77mm Fader ND MKII.
Everything is pretty much like new and I wanted...

Re: Sony FDR-AX100

FWIW Noa, the Wasabi wall charger and batteries are cheap and charge quickly for the RX10.
There's also a much better users guide available for the RX10 now.

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera

I shot the RX10 on a series of scenes for an image/promo piece last week.
It featured a 2 horse sleigh in brilliant sun and deep snow.
It was a quick decision and I had to use the EVF, which...

Re: Serious competition for the BMPCC

Hey Carlos, glad I can help.

Regarding the Contineo (mine actually just arrived FedEx) they sell a cold shoe that mounts to the cage for about $25 and of course you can always get a more flexible...

Re: Serious competition for the BMPCC

I have absolutely no problem with the batteries on the BMPCC - completely over blown non-issue. They're pretty much the same mini-battery size as the ones in the RX10. I simply picked up 4 extras for...

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera

Great, thanks Noa.

Here's what I'm loving about this and DanC's footage from the Grand Canyon - so many detailed backgrounds that would be screaming moire and aliasing on a GH3 or 5D or BMC look...

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera

Of course they are.
I happened to get both at the same time for upcoming work - thought they could make complimentary small systems.
It's not comparison testing, its working with them to get to...

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera

I got the new BMPCC on Friday and the RX10 arrives Monday.
I'll definitely have to find some time to shoot the two together when I'm setting them up.

Re: BMPCC memory cards

Use the 64GB Sandisk Extreme 45mbs for Prores and only the 64GB Extreme Pro for RAW.

Not that something else might not work, but that's the way to be safe.

I love learning the subtleties of the languages we share, and NZ is a "must visit someday" for a lot of reasons for me.

It's always about the user and the usage with these tools.
We're...

Re: Serious competition for the BMPCC

Ironically, I just added both cameras to our kit this week.
I got them both for their size and different abilities.
You'll never get the image out of the RX10 that you will from the BMPC.
You'll...

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera

Of course there's no ideal anything, and if there were an ideal camera, you certainly wouldn't be paying $1300 for it. But the RX10 was certainly developed to check off virtually every box that a lot...

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera

We're in the earliest of stages of seeing what this camera might do.
Everyone's busy on the holiday, with a few grabbing shots as they try out settings.

What I'm seeing so far is pretty much the...

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera

It's no different than there being the potential for strong moire with the BMPCC.
It doesn't change the fact that it can deliver an image as good as nearly any you'd want for a quality TV spot.
It...

Re: Sony RX10 point-and-shoot camera

Only as it regards depth of field otherwise 2.8 is 2.8.
If you light a scene and shoot the GH3 the 5DIII and the RX10, they will all read the same exposure at f/2.8.
The other difference is that...
