Re: RAW 2 CF RAW Now in Version 1.001

Hi all,

Haven't heard if Studio Premium can convert Sony FS700 4K Raw from the Sony recorder. I am shooting with this combo this weekend and wondered if I upgrade to S.P. --can I convert the raw...

Hi CineForm folks,

I just wanted to know if there were any plans to support the 1080 60p 28 mbs AVCHD mode from the Sony FS100?

Neoscene seems to only convert the video but doesn't carry audio...

No prob Jeff, glad to contribute even boring clips. ;-)

Let us know how the mxf files perform in CS5. I'm wondering if they're just as easy to edit as HDV files in terms of RT performance.

I uploaded 4 raw 50 mbps 4:2:2 clips. Up to Chris if he wants to post them.

A wide shot (1080 24p), a CU (1080 24p), and just for grins, an overcrank and undercrank shot.

Not terribly exciting...

My first guess would be to turn off noise reduction. That's probably the culprit.

Email sent!

There's a lot I wish I had to time to go over about the camera, but I think comparing it to the EX1 is probably the matchup that makes the most sense. In fact, the XF seems extremely...

Yeah, no prob, if Chris doesn't mind hosting them for a while. They are rather large files though, I think the smallest is around 200 MB. I wasn't really thinking about getting short clips for raw...

I played with the XF-305 at a local dealer for a little while yesterday. I was able to grab a few raw recordings on CF but nothing all that interesting other than decent examples of how the camera...

A bit bummed by this, but then it's Apple/FCP and that means QT or nothing at all. ProRes is great but just a huge disk space hog. I'd prefer editing native MXF and then export a sequence to ProRes...

So are you actually editing native Canon XF codec files, or does it have to transcode to ProRes?

Another great clip Nick, many thanks. I'm really impressed with the lack of CA and just the overall sharp, smooth, natural-looking image the camera makes. I can definitely perceive a BIG improvement...

Loooove the 6X. It's really amazingly good glass for this class of camera.

Using the 5DMKII, you do get spoiled with how wide you can get, but for a 1/3" camcorder to get the equivalent FOV of...
