Re: FS5 - Dust inside sensor compartment
Assuming you registered the camera with Prime Support, just give Prime Support a ring and arrange to get it picked up. It won't be something the dealer can do, it's a prime support job.

Re: fs-7 scene files on F5
They will be extremely close but there are some very small processing differences between the two cameras.

Re: FS5 - new zebras after v2.0 question
Over the years camera manufactures have added tools to cameras to help us. Tools such as zebras. If 70% zebras are really so un-helpful and such a terrible thing, why is it that the default zebra...

Re: FS5 - Sony confirms monitor/output cripple?
It looks like the FS5 may be using the A7II processing but with the FS7/F5 sensor. This may go some way to explaining why at launch at least there will be no HDMI output when you go into record.

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
i've been using a Canon EF 18-35mm Art lens on the FS7 and it is a beautiful combination, no vignetting. There are some iris control issues with both the commlite and metabones adapters with the old...

Re: New Sony A7s to shoot 4K video
Now you're talking. Loxia's on an A7s, that's a great combo. I got to shoot with some on the FS7 and they produced some really amazing images.

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
You only need the full version if you want to render at 4096x2160. The lite version will do 3840x2160 which is the consumer TV 4K standard. The FS7 won't have 4096x2160 at launch anyway.
Yes, once...

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
But a simple curve won't sort out the color space correctly, that really does need a LUT to be done right. Not saying you can't grade without LUT's but it's a heck of a lot easier if you can use...

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
If you use the 709(800) LUT and shoot a white card the white should be around 90%, so you can use 90% zebras if you wish.
Ideally, when working with log you want to grade using a proper grading...

Re: Sony PXW-X180
There will be a firmware update for the X180 that will enhance it's streaming and proxy capabilities coming soon. I believe automatic upload of proxies is one of the features that will be included.

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
The short answer is you can't. There are very, very few 4K 60P pro monitors. The Sony X300 is one and very nice but very expensive. Normally I would use a 4K HDMI consumer TV with HDMI 2.0 or down...

Re: New Sony FS7 4K XDCAM at IBC 2014
The Sony 28-135mm lens is a great all round lens. Sure it would be nice to have a wider lens for some applications but then it would probably end up being something like a 17-70mm f4 in a similar...
