Re: After Effects CS5.5 Stabilizer

It's good to an extent, but it won't fix everything. For the most part though it seems to work great.

Re: 5D footage for broadcast

The whole opening for SNL is shot on a 5D Mark II.

And yes, an episode of House was also shot on that camera and broadcast on Fox.

Re: 5D Mark II and iPad

They say it's twice the CPU, but really they just made it thinner and added a camera :P

Just kidding, hahah!

Re: Warp Stabilizer = future steadicam

Not if you can't afford to lose the crop area.

Personally I call it the (in nice terms) "rear-end saver" if you couldn't get a shot because of circumstances that wouldn't allow the time and space...

What lens did you use on that Butterfly shot? Love the closeup on the flower/butterfly!

Re: Sliders, Sliders everywhere but which way to go?

The hard part about the cheap sliders is that "one trick" can take a bunch of takes to pull off smoothly. After a while when you are doing your best to keep the base steady while making those...

Re: The ultimate in wedding videos. wow.

I think i'd feel embarrassed if I was the one in that video, hahah!

Well done, but not exactly the way I capture genuine moments on film. Of course if the couple really insisted on it i'd make...

Re: Sliders, Sliders everywhere but which way to go?

Robert-

I have the 24PHD- Motion Slider 24 Camera Slider and I do have buyer's remorse on it. I used it for my 5DM2 and I have to say the head on it has quite a bit of play in it. I suppose with...

Re: The future of wedding video?

I think if they wanted some very high production values and cool special technical shots LIVE that would be some crazy stuff. It looked like the key was to not be too obtrusive in letting the...

Re: The future of wedding video?

For me in SLR shooting I don't try to mimmick others out there. My goal is to help tell their story using not just music, but dialogue captured from the day and genuine moments. I never stage...

Re: The future of wedding video?

Actually I use DSLR as a TOOL, not a style. How the shots are composed and how the editing is done is where that finished piece's style happens.

Doesn't matter if it was shot on an Professional...

How has advertising in print or online ads helped your business?

I run my business with my best friend as a photo & video offering. My friend has a polar opposite view of what will bring in the bookings. I feel advertising is very important, especially if no...

Re: Wedding nightmare

I've been fortunate to work with some decent photographers who are kind enough to talk to be about where they're at as well as be courteous to my part of the shooting. I tend to also be one of those...

Re: Brides without BluRay

Not entirely true. A good one with bd live network features and faster load times are more expensive. The lowest end ones with basic function and slower load times... Sure you can get one at big...

Re: Brides without BluRay

Interesting.... HD files on a small drive would be awesome to do as a package.

I still believe Blu-Ray is a niche market. Growing, but still niche. Many people still are loving their DVD...

Re: CS5 DSLR Editing: Bigger RAM or upgrade Video Card?

Well I think also that depends on what SSD you get. Some SSDs perform much faster than others.

I use an OCZ Vertex Turbo and that has been running like a champ for a long time now. Love the...

Re: How do you do this edit?

^^

That's how I was gonna say I thought they did it. And it does look like some resolution loss. I'd say I'd be safe doing this if the native resolution was going to be a 16:9 SD video, but if...

Re: Connecting to Mixer's output for event videography

Whatever you do, only use your own gear! :)

I shot a pretty high profile wedding once and thought of plugging into the soundboard because it was convenient. Good thing I didn't because partway...

Re: CS5 DSLR Editing: Bigger RAM or upgrade Video Card?

Well I got the card up and running and it's definitely a lot better for general cuts and doing dissolve transitions and notice that big performance boost.

Still extremely disappointed that Red...

Re: Why So Grainy?

I really don't think your footage turned out as bad as you advertised, haha! I thought it was decent and definitely far from terrible. :)
